My cousin wanted me to join Mensa since I scored high on the tests and seemed to fit in quite well at the few meetings I went to. Yes, antisocial, self-critical ex-punker me would fit in really well with a group of people brought together to discuss how smart we all are. Not. Sinergy

Why didn't I join Mensa... because I honestly can't stand another 3 week debate about when buttons were first introduced to Europe... and for the follow up debate... a 2 week argument about when button HOLES were first invented. And sadly, that isn't a joke.

LOL depends on which part of the country...some Irish and British accents really are awful and some are great. I worked VERY hard not to get the annoying Cork accent when I lived there. It would be like saying you want an "American" accent when we all know how differently New Yorkers speak from Texans from North Dakotans.

I have to admit to a fondness for the sing-song Cork accent, I dont know how you managed not to pick it up... when I worked there I even fooled the locals with my new accent! Oumae
