how long did it take you for yours to heal? what kind of jewelry did you have, and do you think your breast size had any correlation to the healing time?

mine are driving me nuts. i've had them for six months, and they are a lot better than they were at first, but they're healing REALLY slowly. i think the fact that i have ddds might have something to do with it - they tend to brush against things and snag a lot, and the weight puts the jewelry at an odd angle sometimes.

Greetings

When i had mine, they were sore and had discharge for a year. When the soreness and discharge didn't stop, i removed them and haven't put rings in since.

If they don't heal up soon, you might want to go speak with the person who did the piercing, to see what they think about it.

I have 40F's, so I understand the size issue. That little extra piece of metal whacks on everything. I had a lot of problems with mine at first. I have had them in for 5 months now. Once I started putting neosporin on them, they healed just fine. I realized also that I couldn't let anyone touch them for about a week. Hope this helps!

Ok...to make a long story short. In my experience, nipples piercings are notoriously hard to heal. It's not uncommon for them to take a year or more to fully heal and the build-up of lymphatic matter (crusties) to stop. It all depends on anatomy, placement, the specific way your body heals, the type of jewelry, and the size of the jewelry.

Since your breasts are quite large, my recommendation would have been barbells. How large your nipples are in comparison to the breast itself should also be considered. Usually, the larger the nipple, the bigger the gauge necessary to avoid a cheese cutter effect. Nipple size is important in the decision of placement, as well. Too far back and they'll never heal. Too far forward and you run the risk of migration. It's really a judgement call on the piercer's part.

The fact of the matter is, body jewelry is a foreign object in your skin. Your body doesn't really want it there. It's also considered an open wound until it's healed. If they're making steady progress, as you said they are, I wouldn't worry about them too much. You're still well within the normal healing period. Baby them and keep a close watch out for migration.

If the jewelry diameter or type of jewelry is really bothersome, as far as the snagging and bad angles with the bra and whatnot, go to your piercing artist and ask them for a recommendation as to some new jewelry. Most reputable studios will change your jewelry out for you for a nominal charge, if not for free.

I tried to keep a nipple ring in 8 months.
It always was a little pusy and if bumped too hard it would bleed.
It was hypersensitive all the time to anything touching it. Wearing a bra was awful.
I'm allergic to most metals and was told gold rings tend to migrate out of the nipple so it's not recommended.
I ended up just removing it and don't plan on doing it again.
I hope yours is just healing slow & you get to keep yours.
I'd have my Doctor look at it if I were you.

Mine healed rather quickly. The immediate OW pain of clothing was gone w/in a week and Sir was pinching them w/out me flinching w/in a month. From everything I have read and everyone I've talked to, this is REALLY rare, and I was very lucky.

6 months to a year is not uncommon for nipple piercings to heal. A friend saw me when she had had hers in for about 6 months and she could still barely handle them being touched.

I wore horseshoes. I spent about 2 weeks wearing straight barbells when I started a job but one of the barbells I got was too small and the nipple became painful, so I went back to the horseshoes. I wear a 14g which means I can share balls with my tongue piercing.

I wore the jewelry I was pierced with for probably 6 months if not longer before I changed out any jewelry in my nipples - I believe it was stainless steel. I'm currently wearing tapered titanium horseshoes which are kept on with lil black o-ring things instead of balls and is much less visible under clothing.

Good luck with your piercings! I do know that one thing I did was wash with antibacterial soap and rotate the piercings while washing and then while rinsing. I don't know how much it may have helped or not.

I just got mine in January (barbells). They bled for a few days, but within 10 days they looked fully healed (i know they are not). No bleeding, no pus, no discharge, no pain unless I snag on something. I use a new sea salt spray that is designed for piercings called H2Ocean twice a day. The stuff is fantastic!

I should note i have small breasts. I did wear a t-shirt to bed for the first 3 months, but don't even bother with that anymore. Love how my nipples feel!

I had both nipples pierced at the same time as I had my labia pierced. The labia healed within about two weeks, my nipples still hadn't healed in over a year. I changed the gold rings for bar bells and low and behold... they healed within weeks, apparently as the rings were curved the air is less able to circulate, the bars held the holes horizontal and allowed the flesh inside to heal. I thought many times of removing them, they were so painful, like a tooth ache you cant get at. However, I persevered and now I love them.

My nipple piercings are 7 weeks old. I've still got the discharge but I'm in no pain. I'm a 40DDD and as soon as the piercer saw me she was like "barbels." Apprently they're easier to heal for people who will (most of the time) be wearing a bra pushed up against them.

I didn't read all of the responses, but when I had my navel done it wouldn't heal and wouldn't heal, so I finally had someone look at it, and I had an allergy to the ring. if you have any concerns you need to have someone who knows something about it take a look, I suffered a lot and it would have been unnecessary if I had taken action instead of thinking that no one is allergic to surgical steel.

Mine are just about a year old now, and I still have issues with them. For the most part they are healed, but they are still sore at times. I have debated a hundred times over whether to keep them or not. I still keep holding out hope that they will get better, but I am not sure anymore.

opposed to most girls who went braless w/new piercings i opted for sports bras, tight tanks. tighter= better b/c = less friction.

also, if they pierced you with the god forsaken huge loops they gave me, swich them out. i suffered a year [no infection, but also not healed] until i put barbells in [had piercer do the switch]. instantaneously better and never again another problem!!

also, sea salt is good, also hydro peroxide [although a piercer wont recommend it b/c of drying effects but that has never happen to me and i have used it on ALL my piercings]

I've had mine going on 10 years. I had no end of trouble the first year until I switched from rings to barbells [I'm also a DD/DDD].

I still, to this day, occasionally get issues with my right one. When it acts up, I do a sea salt soak and clean the barbell with hydrogen peroxide to get the gunk off.

I don't like piercings on my slaves/subs for the very reason I play very rough and they get in the way,also I am a lacation nut and nipple piercings sorta of screw up that deal even tho one of my sub was able to breast feed with piercings.whats the consensus on this,are you able to lactate successful with piercings...JUST an ol'curious master inquiring

i think if you want successful lactation the piercing consensus is to take them out. most women will do this regardless during pregnancy because of the stretching/swelling. if you can get a woman to lactate w/o being preggo, i think you will be able to work around the barbell as well seeing as how the first is a feat in itself

I had one one my nipples pierced last year and I'm still wearing the barbell I got at the time. But it took about 6 weeks to heal up and then another 2 months maybe to heal fully. Lots of sea salt to keep it clean and no bras make the difference I guess..

i do have barbells (nickel free, medical grade, and i am fairly sure it's not an allergy to the jewelry), and i have a really awesome piercer (who is also an rn). i need to go get them checked again...i will try the neosporin and check out that h2ocean :). sea salt helps some but i still have the crusties and occasional discharge. i don't plan on replicating, so breast feeding isn't really an issue.
