I am very sorry to hear about this happening.  Such behavior is never acceptable.
Peace protests should not denigrate neither service members nor their families.

10) and people hate us. Just because we wear the uniform.
I was at the funeral of a fallen friend in Iraq, when protestors showed up AT THE FUNERAL with signs like "Your son is in hell!" "Thank god the baby killer is dead" etc....  Imagine how his family felt. I know if had not been holding the flag I probably would have gotten arrested.

We are back to a problem of definitions again.

What is your mission?

I did not support Lt. Calley doing what he thought was his mission either.

No kidding that is just plain wrong and works in their own worst interest.   they need to protest the peole in charge not the people who almost have no choice but to follow orders.  The problem is that everything is so obscure now days its not cut and dry so how does a soldier determine a war is inappropriate?  there simply are no clear lines like there were ar nurmberg where extermination was quite obviously a war crime.
