It seems that in 2010 and 2011 George was very, and very publicly, involved in trying to get justice for a homeless black man beaten up by the son of a Lieutenant in the Sanford Police Department.

Just my own speculation, here, but this could possibly explain why tthe PD wanted to arrest Zimmerman. The DA may have squashed it because it was simply payback for going against a cops son.

Who cares if Zimmerman is or isn't a racist?

That's not required with Zimmerman meeting the requirements for prosecution under Florida's manslaughter law

Now, if you want to make a case for something BEYOND manslaughter, say capital murder, you're going to have to examine Zimmerman's comment of "These assholes always get away", before he began his pursuit of Martin, and conveniently ended the phone call which he would have SUPPOSEDLY reported Martin's location to the responding officers. That's a huge gap in Zimmerman's story. If he was pursuing Martin to report his location to the responding officers, WHY DID HE END THE CALL WITH 9-1-1 WHERE HE WOULD HAVE COMMUNICATED THAT INFORMATION?

George Zimmerman made sure that Trayvon Martin wasn't one of "these assholes" who "always get away". And he made sure that there wasn't a 9-1-1 tape showing what he did to make sure that Martin didn't get away, also.

If the FDLE and FBI scrubbing the 9-1-1 tapes shows conclusively that Trayvon Martin was begging for his life before Zimmerman killed him? Well, Zimmerman is well and truly fucked. And his dad might end up in Federal prison on an obstruction of justice conspiracy to boot.

He does not have to be a KKK member to suspiciously overreact and shoot dead an unarmed [black] teenager. (1) How do you explain his impaired judgment and (2) how do you explain the poorly executed police investigation of the crime scene?

Rick Benjamin suggested a gated community mentality.

Those reducing this tragedy to racism miss a more accurate and painful picture. Why is a child dead? The rise of “secure,” gated communities, private cops, private roads, private parks, private schools, private playgrounds — private, private, private —exacerbates biased treatment against the young, the colored and the presumably poor.

See? "Many" have ranted about this case so long that Zimmerman must be guilty at all costs or these "Many" were very wrong and are just a classic lynch mob. Case in point. The OP facts contradict linchpin of the "he's guilty" crowd that this was racially motivated and racial profiling occurred, as suggested in the non-factual and totally bogus NBC doctored recording. Yet, this reply diverts from that very important fact by launching into a discussion about 911 tapes and the FBI and damn near anything else. The reply way is off subject. The OP is suggesting not that Zimmerman is innocent but that all these many suggestions that Zimmerman's actions were racially influenced are perhaps not even close to the truth. This OP tends to insert some reality into unreal accusations and I found it very interesting.

But again, it is not provably FACTUAL. A rellie writes a letter to somebody. That is not prima facie evidence of a fuckin thing.

Now whether Zimster was racially motivated or no, he shot a kid. I aint got no dogs in this fight beyond that really.

Let justice prevail, as it so very rarely actually does.

So.... What articulable facts did Zimmerman state to give probable cause that Trayvon Martin was committing or about to commit a crime as his reason for calling 9-1-1 to have police come out?

I think its possible for people to be both racist and not racist, depending on the persons and situation involved.. I also think racism exists in people that dont think they are... Even tho I think Martin was a happy kid walking from the store talking to his girlfriend on his cell and gunned down by an imbecile cop wannabe.. and even tho i kissed a black boy when i was 17 and have had sex with a black man a few years ago, that does not mean that i dont also have racist tendencies.. Same would be true imo with Zimmy...

Except that the particular gated community in question (in which Zimmerman lived) is about 25% black and Hispanic.

But really, Zimmy made up his mind about the kid the very first moment he saw him, he had already judged him as a bad guy even tho all the kid was doing was walking down the street with candy and talking on his cell.. something most people have done at one time or another themselves.. and its not like it was 3am, it was 7:30pm or so in the evening..

I think it would be very interesting to know how many of the people he previously reported to 911 or reported to his HOA as being suspicious were black, hispanic and white..

funniest part of this whole tragedy is that if you reversed the race of the shooter and the kid who was killed, the opinions of more than half the major commentators (talking syndicated talking heads, not folks on here) would reverse too...

Actually, I think the cons are defending this guy cause they are afraid he will make a law the NRA jerks off to look bad. I mean, the law effectively says you can pull your gun and shoot folks if you think they are breaking the law. Of course the first time a black guy uses the law to shoot a white kid, they will shit a brick.

Well chasing after an innocent kid, the being found by a cop standing over the dead kid's body while holding a smoking gun will do that. The question is, "was it manslaughter, or murder?", since his "self-defense" claim, on its face, is invalid. ( And that's why Bill Lee got himself fired, and is worrying about federal prison. )

If Zimmerman has anything to say in his defense, he can tell it to the Judge, because nobody else gives a shit what he has to say after all his bullshit.
