I've got a question..I just told a friend about me being on cm and that i would like to get to know more abiut bsdn. And thay said it was wrong that i would go to hell because its all the devil's play.but ive meet people on here the believe in gid and go to church... just wanted some feed back

I personally don't believe in gid, but I know a lot of people, especially from the taken in hand variety who have a distinct religious twist to their Mf D/s relationship, because the Bible says that women should follow their husbands.

welcome to the site.

what does it matter?

nothing we tell you can help you justify your choices. you have to sort this for yourself. i don't believe in any god so i have no worries on that score. there seems to be plenty here who do believe, but they carry on anyway.

from some of the things that have been said on here regarding god it would seem that most look at it more as a guide rather than absolute truth. i'm sure that some will come along and say otherwise, but that's ok because according to what they believe they will be going to hell for being here.

seriously though, think it through for yourself. the way i see it; if there is a god then he made you what you are surely? if that is the case then this bdsm side of you is right because he made you. if not then it's his fault for making you flawed.

If we take the argument one step further, then the holocaust proves that the Christian God exists, and he was rather pissy about what happened to his kid... reaction time seems a bit slow though.

however, we are all born with choice. we, unless there is a serious psychological problem, are all brought up knowing right from wrong. people make their own choices no matter what the subject.

as yet i've never seen a rapest or paedo struck down by any fricking god for what they do. a bit of bdsm should be well down on his list for getting his panties in a twist about. so much simpler to not believe at all. that way you can just blame the humanity for being fucked up instead of thinking that some god is in charge of it all letting off the scum of the earth with their henous crimes while the innocent suffer.

I'm not a practitioner of any established religion but I identify as Gnostic Christian and a good deal of my friends describe me as Pagan.

That said; I believe that there's some kind of higher power and I believe that power has endowed most of us with a conscience through which we can receive "advice" from that power.

For those to whom a conscience wasn't given, we have laws - which I believe were also authored, essentially, by that higher power. Some laws may border on the ridiculous (a certain mayor of New York City, trying to legislate that we have to buy two sodas instead of one) and, of course, we violate them (speeding, parking violations, etc.), knowing that there may be a forfeit of some kind involved.

Therefore, I believe that if something doesn't violate our conscience AND a law, we're probably on firm spiritual ground.

The only addendum I can add to that is that if something bothers our conscience, we probably need to re-examine what it is we're doing.

Surely not. This isn't an unbiased arena. You didn't post that thinking forum members would agree with your friend.

I don't know what your religion is, and not being religious myself, my opinion on whether or not you're going to hell won't mean much.

You need to talk to someone who shares your religious beliefs, whatever they are.

sweetie, did you miss the part where i said i don't believe in any god?

i think we are all responsible for our own actions, so i for one don't hide behind some make believe higher power,or whatever other way anyone else wants to term it.

all the crap that goes on within religious threads just prooves that those who do believe pick and choose what they believe is true, or can be stretched. if those in here who state they believe in god truely did then they wouldn't be here, or engaging in what they do risking hell and damnation. you can't pick and choose. you either believe, and live by it, or you lie to yourself and justify what you do. as far as i remember there is no middle ground in religion. you don't get to pick and choose without being punished for it.

so hence my point, crack on now and pay for it later.
