ORIGINAL: freedomdwarf1 Sorry WD, I completely disagree with you. She WAS elected. Fact. Deal with it. Well, she was elected as an MP. She wasn't elected to her position as Prime Minister by the country - that's the key point. When people vote in general elections, the leader of the relevant party is crucial to the way they vote. People will, to a very large extent, be voting for Corbyn or May at this election. May hasn't gone through that trial of fire to be PM yet. quote:
Yes, she called it to get a better majority in parliament. Of course, that keeps her in power. Deal with it. That, of course, is only May's justification for calling a general election - and politicans do tell porkies, as we all know. Other main contenders as reasons why she's called the election are first, that Brexit is simply a bad idea and things are going to turn to crap ... so, it's best to have a general election now, while the Government doesn't look too pisspoor and while it's doing well against Labour. Another reason is that the majority the Government currently has could be wiped out by the number of Tory MPs who'll end up in jail, or kicked out of the Commons, or both, because of electoral fraud. This isn't scaremongering - there's plenty of evidence now for there to be more than a suspicion that fraud's been going on. From what I've been reading the numbers of MPs being looked at by Scotland Yard range from 17 to 30. It's not looking good for a somewhat slimey government at present.
