beats me how you want to continue to say "religious dogma" after its been pointed out to you that non-believers are capable of believing life begins at conception and presumably have been prior to and independent from any religious teaching. theres no way to go back in history and prove otherwise.

im not aware that im saying "libertarians believe" and attempting to speak for all libertarians. im suggesting that its possible to be an adherent of libertarian philosophy and rightly accommodate views that the political party does not have on that "platform."

I believe the republicans, though I don't know this for sure, have a pro-life statement in their platform.

that said however, the people who created the platform for the party could just as easily have been the "pro-life libertarians."

I hope something I said there sticks, because really, im only vaguely clued in on what we're talking about.

Because the origin of the concept that life begins at conception is from Christian religious dogma going back to the 10th Century and even earlier according to some. The fact that individuals that don't adhere to strict Christian religious dogma also approve of the concept does not abrogate the origins of the concept.

Not a "libertarian" issue but an issue with opinions on a point of religious dogma.

"fetus" is both a correct medical term, and unfortunately, a pro-abortion usage designed to dehumanize what the thing is, a human baby.

As defined by your religion.

youre one of my favorite people here to read, and I quite often take what you write as true on its face, but in this case, statements like that are in great need of referencing. especially as ive said, theres absolutely no way to prove that.

God you're a fragile wee snowflake, DS. Any criticism of one section of the USA's political spectrum, and you have to invoke WW2 in order to show how you have saved the lives of every non-American here. And this, after your starting a thread where you make it abundantly clear how much you want to attack extremist Muslims *along with the people around them* and - in passing - pass your usual slur on what you call 'socialist Europe'. Frankly, if you can't take it, don't dish it - would be my advice.

Struck the mark a bit near, did I?

I can take it, just fine. I know what America has done for this world and what Europe and "Merry Olde" have contributed. To this day, we're the "go to", when Europe decides there's "trouble" in the world. We have been since WWI (probably).

It's easy to have a "national health care", when you've got a whole 'nother country, handling your national defense and then, spout some holier-than-thou bullshit at the people helping you have a better life.

Again, bitteschön.
