ORIGINAL: gretchenS mistoferin, Normal and common soap is terrible for that zone, unless the ph of the soap matches the ph of your crotch. And there is special soaps made to have a right daily hygiene! I can't use just any soap my self. It gives me a really bad irritation and since I was a little girl I have to take care of catching any type of infections, due to a bad kidney medical record. And, as the doctors have always told me, regular soap, shampoo or whatever product is really bad for the health of that zone because it kills all sorts of bacteria, including the kind of bacteria that helps you prevent infections. Gosh, I don't know how I've managed all these years. And to think that I use soap every single day (sometimes several times a day) and I have never in my life had a urinary tract infection, a bladder infection or a bacterial infection. As for the PH, the only time I have ever even had a yeast infection is after a heavy round of antibiotics. I could never think about splashing some water on it and calling it clean. As a matter of fact, I am fanatical about hygiene. For those of you who don't use soap....please tell me, what on earth do you use?
