Did anyone notice that she had been diagnosed with an inner ear infection...and was probably just put on antibiotics? That gives me an instant yeast infection almost every blessed time. Then afterward, she used that one day yeast cure...those are harsher than ones that take a week. When I've used them, I've felt like I had Draino put up there before an hour was out, and then I've had cramps for the next day. Her swelling may have been in reaction to that one day cure, and the soap was only irritating a problem that was already there. Btw, my gynecologists in the past have recommended inserting plain sugarless yogurt. Any clean applicator, like from those yeast infection kits, will do the job. I rarely use it though, cuz I have a 16 year old who will try to snag any yogurt he sees in the fridge... I never thought of external use of diluted vinegar, ty. My mother is very sensitive down there, and goes out of balance at the drop of a hat and can't use bubble bath either. Somehow I never put two and two together until now that washing myself there with Suave shampoo (hey, I like raspberry and strawberry and whatever) could be the reason why mine is always out of balance. I'll have a talk with my gyn over this soon...yep, I have to go anyway. It's great how so many threw in their 2 cents worth so we could learn from their experience. Everyone already knows to go to a doctor...but let's face it; some things are so common to *half the population* that we can benefit from talking with each other. I rarely get more than a couple of minutes of a doctor's time unless the doc is performing surgery, so if I don't know something is important, he never finds out. I'm 42 and have never discussed with my gyn about using Suave and what should I use as an alternative. Thanks to others here...I can get some Ivory soap, stop using corn starch to stay drier in summer months, and bring all of this up to my gyn.
