To give an idea of HOW swollen it is.. you normally cant see the "inner" lips when looking at it. They are usually um.. way inside?

yeah.. edit to add.. looking at the pics.. the part that is Protruding.. is not visible on a general basis. When ya look at my punani (normally) All you see is the two outer lips and a LITTLE bit poking out the top. Like my hood.. i think.. You dun see my inner lips! myyyy

wonder if i have any normal pics around here?

Actually i went to the doc for a mor serious complant. Dizziness, feeling sick to my stomach generally.. being off balance and having trouble walking because of it. Granted the balance thing was random. i orginally thought it was because i was self abusing myself in the most positive and productive way (spending days out in the sun doing heavy yard work and then going to the YMCA to work out till i felt like falling over)

But no.. just a viral inner ear infection. Didnt actually ask about my punani as its not something he specializes in. Lotta docs are closed on Saturdays :: pouts at you::

Plus i dun want to go showing my punani to random strangers!

And thank you everyone for the suggestions. i'm abit nervous to try anything else at the moment and being sick.. eh, i sorta rather lay in bed at the moment. Specially if its not um.. hurting!

I've used soap down there for years as well with nary a problem. I've never had it burn either. Maybe you didn't get the soap all rinsed off.

:: sigh :: as hardy and tough as i generally am.. i can be oddly senstive. Cant use certian lotions as they burn the skin off my face (sun screen too) only pure silver or 14k gold for my ears.. or they swell up. And well i'm a tad bit sensitive to soap. See i KNOW if the soap is on too long.. or too close to the cave.. it can be unpleasant, but well it didnt hurt at the time.. so i was like ....... all good!

ahhhhhh poo.

i DID take some benadryl, as it notified me it was going to start itching again.. sorta helped.

Looking at the pics, you appear to have some blistering and maceration of your labia minora. Could be as you suggested a chemical type burn from the soap or from the Monostat. But it definately looks like a burn of some sort, which would explain the swelling.
Silvadene creme would work well but it is prescription. I would check in with an MD on Monday if you are still hurting, itching etc. I have seen labia like this before and Silvadene creme has cleared it up and has a cooling effect on the stingy, itchy burn.

Any swelling should be treated with a cold compress.
Yes, a bag of frozen peas is good but thaw them a little first or you'll have a bag of peas stuck to your cootchie.

hmmm....Ive never had a problem using soap, but it could be possible that a certain brand of soap has some type of irritant in it that could cause a reaction in some people. Have you switched to a diff soap lately? Even the possibility of a new laundry soap could be setting off the infection.. I wouldnt use monistat or treat yourself for a yeast infection unelss you've been diagnosed with that. Knock wood, Ive never had one in my life, so Im not real learned about this, but if there isnt discharge, wouldnt that mean there is no yeast infection? I could be wrong. I dont know.

As far as the itch, I would suggest using an over the counter mild type of itch cream either with benedryl or hydrocortizone. Or hell, maybe even preparation H lotion, becuause I think it has some very mild active ingredients. If not that, than I would still suggest using one that says its safe for hemorhoidal itch, because if its gentle enough for that, its probably gentle enough for your twat.

For washing, I would just gently rinse with cool water and carefully pat dry. For discomfort, take a couple tylenol. I would do all of this only until the soonest possible time that I could get in to see my gyno. Good luck!!

awww, poor Riot!!!!!

well, on a side note, i know she told me using the desitin helped.... since that is for sensitive baby skin - rashes, irritated skin - etc.... and do the cold, cold cold washclothes!!! i told ya that too in yahoo!!!!! *grumbles* Riot you can be a lil stubborn!!! heheheh.... remember? wet some washclothes and put them in the fridge, than have the little one go fetch them and switch them out for you when they are no longer 'cold' - keep her busy!!!! hahahah!!!!!! just a thought!!!

Riotgirl, you can make yogurt popsicles in the freezer and apply it that way. Im not joking, it works like a supository but with the added benefit of being cold and numbing to the membranes and then eventually just sort of cool and soothing, followed by a big sticky mess, but well worth it for the cold and numbing part.
