I admit Yes! I am positively a sam, smart assed masochist! I also admit, and this one is a long one, I made Daddy his lunch today again. The cooler has been a big hit, Now true, he did put the whole thing in the ice box, so the ice didn't have long to have to act like ice and keep things cool, but the trip to work gets the stuff nice and chilled, and then the fridge works wonders. Even a 25 minute trip home, at 7:30, getting home at 8 didn't totally melt the ice, because the cooler lunch sack is so effective:) Of course maybe it helped that by 7:30 it's not so bloody hot outside any more. Today I packed him a honey smoked turkey and hard salami sandwich, I even cut the sandwich in half, so it's easier to handle and eat, 8 small cookies, 8 pieces of hard tiny round slices of salami, they're about the size of a quarter, 2 hand fulls of Chinese crackers. There was one piece of ham left over, and I saw no sence in putting back just one slice, so it too, and the rest of the hard salami went into his lunch sack, for a snack. The sandwich had 4 slices of ham, 4 slices of salami, and four slices of cheese, and I was smart too, I put the cheese against the bread, and the meats on the cheese. I have heard that the cheese protects the bread from absorbing oils and stuff from the meats. If you're having a tomato and cheese sandwich, I have also heard the cheese protects the bread from getting so soggy so fast. I also packed him 4 soda's and a Caprisun cooler, One of the soda's to drink on the way to work, since he likes that, and the other drinks to drink through out the day, and the Caprisun cooler for variety in case he don't want all soda's. Tomorrow I am going to pack him spaghetti noodles, and since he works at an Italian restaurant, and they make their own pizza and spaghetti sauce, he'll buy sauce from work. I kind of struggle with what to make or prepare, and I really want his lunch to be nutritious and balanced, and I struggle with how to make his lunch nutritious, since mostly we eat microwaved foods, and microwaved foods you could microwave ahead of time, but then even if you could reheat them, they may be soggy. He's kind of picky too, I offered to make him a couple things, like a baked potato, and he said no, he doesn't like yogurt, so he said no to that too. He doesn't like hard boiled eggs, so that was a no too. I could make him potato salads, and baked beans since he likes those items, but do they keep well? He does how ever like things like apples, oranges, banana's strawberries, and water Mellon. It being summer , fruits are very popular, and are all in season right now. It's not hard to stock up and keep ahead of the eating curve with items like that. He also likes string cheeses, jello, puddings, and of course I can also tell him just buy stuff you like, and make sure I know it's for lunches, and I'll put it in your lunch on the days I pack you a lunch. The only reason we had lunch meat in the house, is because my mom bought it, and since they're out of town for a while they said I could take what ever I could find out of their fridge:) If it was really cold, I could make him soups, they do have insulated soup canisters. And some soups are good served cold. So I could still do soups on hot days. Today I brought his lunch cooler to him and he kissed me before leaving for work and said I take such good care of him* beams proudly*
