Now, after some discussion with the wife, we personally think he might be.  But, we wanted the opinions of the boards.  See, our first thing that made us ponder is that he ALWAYS wears a simple black leather & metal braclet about his wrist.  Secondly, there have been many times where he has tied ropes, straps, and the like...  And in doing so, he is QUITE efficient.  Thirdly, there is of course the Dungeon scenes he seems to find a way to put in each season where he's called 'Master'.  And finally, he just gives off the kink vibe for some reason.

So what do people think?  Possible?  Not possible?

Don't forget the numerous bits of inuendo (spanking references seem to come up quite disproportionately for a cooking show).

Signs either point to "yes" or "Alton has a great sense of humor" as well as a way of keeping the girl hopping gleefully into the kitchen.

Oh, yeah... Forgot all about the sex, bondage, & spanking innuendo!  A good point!  Let's be honest, if he IS into kink, many a girl would likely try to move to GA in hopes of a food geek Dom.

There is a lot of overt sexual innuendo and sexuality on many of the Food Network shows...

I think this can really be attributable to many things, not least of which the fact that cooking of that caliber really is less about nutrition, per se, than a sensual lavishment.

I think Alton Brown is probably at the very least cursorily aware of  'alternative lifestyles' and, as most very intelligent people, is not at all threatened by the idea.

I would not attribute his vignettes to him being a Dom, rather... I think that the 'lifestyle' as a whole, and certainly the stereotypes of the lifestyle are more and more being slipped into our mainstream entertainments.

OMG I love this thread.  I just have to say if Alton Brown isn't actually a dominant, he is in my dreams and I'd like to keep it that way.

I have 2 good friends, both in the lifestyle, one dom, one sub who think Alton Brown is hot.  Now I see this thread.  Am I the only kinky woman who thinks Alton Brown is irritating?

I dig Alton Brown....Not to rain on anyones parade but the guy does not strike me as a Dom....Think the only thing he could whip is eggs......I do see him getting strapped by the mean Asian chick on the show. What's her name?

I used to have a slight fantasy of tying up and having my way with the "Two Hot Tamales."......And then we would sit down and enjoy a nice meal together if they were still alive.

W, and yes, I think if anyone is 'topping' on that show, it is she.

Nope, add me to the list.  He makes me feel slimed.

I agree with LA, I love watching Alton Brown, and will quietly imagine he's Dom.

While I happen to like Alton a lot, anyone would be better than chirpy Rachel Ray or the obnoxious Emeril.

Definitely kinky and definitely submissive. I don't know what it is about geeky nerdy tech guys that cook but something about him is hot! I would make him my bitch in a second. I'm still kicking myself because I lived in the same neighborhood as he did before he was famous or married. Sigh.

Never noticed the smirky little sardonic grin when he's called "Master"???

i find racheal ray a bit more annoying. why say "e.v.o.o." and then imediately say "extra virgin olive oil"? i could have understood a few times, but she does that every show i've seen. (my mother watches the show) if she doesn't think her viewers can figure out the abbriviation, why doesn't she just stop saying it? sorry to rant or hijak or any other naughty offences,,, but i'd give the annoying host award to emeril or racheal.

toss bobby flay in there, and i'll definitely agree with you.  NOTHING better than to see bobby's arse get handed to him on a throwdown!
