 I say good girl often, I know what is does to my property and how it makes me feel when I say it to her. Bottom's how does it make you feel when you hear it.
Also, from a top's perspective what makes you say it.

When i first heard a Master say "good girl" to me i felt mildly annoyed by it, mainly because i didn't understand it and therefore couldn't accept it in the way it was meant. After knowing him longer, speaking to him more, understanding more, i developed a satisfaction from hearing him say that to me; knowing that it was something he said when i pleased him and that is what i wanted.  I can't say that i would have the same reaction from another saying it to me, but from that Master it pleased me, as it let me know verbally that i had pleased him.

From anyone but Daddy it's a really insulting, condescending way of speaking to me.

From Him, it's just a really nice and sincere way of telling me I've done something well, and it makes me feel like any other wonderful praise does.

Confused.  Generally, most people I associate with know the difference between boys and girls.

It depends on who says it to me, how I view them/feel about them, and what their intention is.

When my pseudo-master first said it to me, I was glowing. [:D] I knew that I had pleased him. Hearing that praise just made me want to please him more. When anyone else says it to me, I get annoyed as MissOchistic does. To me as well, its insulting and condescending.

The first time i hear "good girl" i was kind of confused and uncertain if it was a subtle form of degradation, but then i figured out it was meant honestly. Since then it brings me much pleasure in knowing i have done well enough to please Her.
If it were from one i was not acquainted with, then i would probably feel i was being belittled.

For Master to say 'good girl' to me it makes me absolutely cringe. Its like hearing fingernails scratch down a blackboard or similar and each time he uses it, I want to scream.  He knows what it does to me but still does it. He likes to tease me in that way - naughty Master that he is.

sometimes my head of house will tell me i am a good girl and pat me on the head,....i have resisted peeing on his shoes...Kitty's are not silly like puppies, begging for attention...but if someone wants to scratch my back or my head, i will allow them the privallage

Its a term I use to praise my dog. She wags her tail and looks at me lovingly.  When I have my collar and lead on, and am similarly praised, I wag my tail and look lovingly, but only after a blinding session when I know, I just know I was Really Good, wooof!!

Interesting… the first Dom I ever submitted to used it once, and it evoked many feelings, non of them particularly pleasant, but then again thinking back I was bottoming to him and never really submitted, since then I realized that I am not the best of submissives and it takes a very special person before I truly submit. If the Domme I am currently playing with uses it, it does however turn me to instant putty.. just that knowing the I have please her in some way is enough to make me purr and glow. But then another point to take note of is that She does not give praise easily, it has to be earned, and when it is given it is truly something special!

Oh God I hate it - it's pretty close to a hard limit for me.  It sounds so absolutely patronizing, like something you would say to a dog.  I'm not an "obedient slavegirl" though...I can see how maybe girls like that would like it.  But I absolutely loathe it - doglike obedience is not something I would consider a virtue in myself.

Love it love it love it...... BUT only when my Domme calls me a good girl anyone else does there'd get my foot where the sun dont shine
