Keep in mind that the material used to make the flogger is going to have a huge impact on how it feels. Deerskin is light, soft material and can be very sensual Suede is also fairly light, but it depends on how it's cut. I have one suede flogger that feels both thuddy and stingy, depending on how I choose to throw it. Cowhide , I think, is a pretty good medium weight for floggers. There is a thickness variation between hides which will help determine the feel. Buffalo hide (One of my favorites) is thick and heavy and can hit like a Mack Truck. Latigo is hard and can do some pretty serious damage if you don't take care in what you're doing. I love the stuff as it can sting and thud while leaving some killer looking marks. There are a lot of different materials out there which will produce different sensations, so do some research and find something that calls out to you. (Floggers are like pets. They pick you...not the other way around.) As for places to find good floggers...God, where to start? My favorite toy maker is Whip Master Bob Clark at www.whipmasterbob.com. A lot of good sites have been posted already, but as was mentioned earlier, it's probably best to find a local vendor and get a real feel for each flogger before you buy it. ~Thorns
