I've never done this with my sub, although I wouldn't hestitate if we were going to a fetish/BDSM outing. In fact I think that it would be a lot of fun with like minded people. I have seen this done in public at the local Ren Faire we have here in Md. A Master was walking his collared/leashed/shackled slave around and frankly, some of the younger children were frightened of her. I guess they thought she was rabid or something. Anyways, it didn't bother me but it definitely did other people. I think the worst part was when she begged for a drink of water and he spat into her mouth.

~Lashra

Icky... If I had been her I would have released myself on the spot. Scaring children is a hard limit for me.

Fully leashed or half leashed or wear 'goth outfit'.....

Wouldn't it be great if the 'old person' who you consided to be 'out of touch' was sitting behind a desk when you came in for a job interview or a custody matter concerning your child?

The person you offend, may control your future.....

Public display should be confined to places that welcome that type of display. Unless you are stinkin' rich and could care about perception, be careful what you do in public

i can't believe the santimonius bs on these forums whenever the topic of public play comes up.  its like clockwork. do you really think people are going to be traumatized by seeing some dude on a leash?  there are a lot of weird people out there, and most people are fully aware of it.  relax.

If you aren't willing to have to explain to your mother why you walked into her home with you on all fours on a leash, then why do you assume it is fair to make somebody else's mother explain to her  offspring what you are doing? The only reason for springing it on strangers instead is that you are afraid of the fallout. And cowardice is no reason to go around deliberately harming others.

Stranger things have happened to me. Our actions do get back around to us and being courtous to the feelings of others rarely has a negative impact on your life.

When discussing public play I think most folks have this in mind, taking chances in parks, public building, parked cars..THIS is not our thing, only in an adult situation A night in jail on a cold slab isn't very appealing..bounty

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU!
The voice of reason!
WOW!

It is SELFISH to put your kink in a public environment where it is not welcome.
What if someone you work with saw you? Do you want to be the laughing JOKE of your work environment? What if your relatives or straight vanilla friends saw you?
Think with your BIG head.

Anytime you put your story on the street...as it were...be ready for the repercussions.

What a long convoluted way to get around to calling me a coward.  And if anyone bothered to follow your "logic", they would see it still didn't make any sense.

First off, I don't believe in not showing children a person on a leash or any other BS.  If someone can't handle seeing two people doing, all things considered, a harmless activity, they should hide under pillows at home.

That having been said, if you do it, be aware of a few facts:
You may see someone who knows you.
  You may get thrown out.
You may get photographed for the local paper.

Chances are, nothing bad will happen.  However, the chance exists.  Weigh that against getting your rocks off in an insignificant manner.

As to people non-consensually being involved, how often do we do the same with music, t-shirt sayings, talking about something in public that may be a touchy subject to the guy at the next table over, and any number of other routine activities?  I mean, gays kiss on the street, and they never asked me if I want to watch!  I am depressed because I'm single, and that couple is holding hands!

I aint saying it's good, but all publicity is good publicity for our cause, no?

Yours,

benji

^^^^^

exactly what ive been trying to say, only he said it better.  noone is getting "harmed" as some have ridiculously stated.  there is a point where that line would be crossed, but that point is far beyond wearing a leash in public, and also, not by coincidence, where laws would start to be broken.

edit:  and as for the harming yourself by doing it.  by running into your boss or what have you, that's  an entirely different thing.  but assuming everyone on here is an adult that's their decision to make.

Yes.  We are assuming you are an adult to then not scream "discrimination!" when you get fired at work and ridiculed by friends, your father disowns you and your mother cries, your grandmother is afraid of you, and your children are taken away.

We are, for that matter assuming you are not a 16 year old wanker.

Yours,

benji

Actually it makes a lot of sense. If you wouldn't do it front of your mother, why would you do it front of someone else's?

No.  A precise analogy would be my mother seeing a complete stranger doing that in a mall.  She might get a good chuckle out of it or find it distasteful, but i can say with certainty she wouldn't be the least bit harmed or lose a minute of sleep over it.
