However, that being said, studies also bear out that greater IQ doesn't translate directly to greater net worth.  People with higher IQs earn more statistically, but they aren't any better about saving it.

My hypothesis, not that I've seen it tested anywhere, is that people both considerably above or below the average IQ of their society become more socially awkward due to not seeing things the same way as the rest of the herd.  Anyone seen anything on that topic before?

Nah. Personal experience I'd say. Otherwise we have to start digressing into the validity of Chi-squares and P values, because study or no, this will just be another of those debates where no-one will win, as such. And IQ just isn't the be-all and end-all of the matter. As an example I've met a Univ prof who was absolutely brilliant, fully tenured, world expert in an engineering field... and who had zero integrity (flagrant adulterer and as best I could determine a pathological liar). Compare that to the construction worker who with not vast pots of smarts at his disposal, sure had a ton of integrity (loyal, honest - values that I include in my definition of integrity). If I was to try and perpetuate the species, then I'd take the lower IQ dude anyday thankyou.

Raises the whole issue of whether uni-sex education has merit. How would the study outcomes change if they concentrated on results from that kind of educational system?
 
Brain size: we don't use even half of what's there anyway (and thats in the public domain, so I won't cite) regardless of whether we're male or female, so thats a moot point as I see it.
