Now this statement I definitely agree with. Peers tend to laugh at those with below average intelligence. Having a high IQ isn't much easier. Imagine being the only one in a class who understands something and being told to go read a book while the teacher explains the assignment a second time to everyone else. Many men resent intelligent women. I'm always accused of being too complex to deal with. I conducted an experiment a few years ago on a guy I liked. When I showed intelligence, he couldn't stand me. When I started acting stupid he fell for me. I was given two IQ tests. My lowest score was a 169, the highest a 173. I've never really fit in with anyone. I think having a high IQ is worse in many ways than having a low one.

Two of my best friends both have an IQ in the 160s, and then both tend to get along terribly with people. I'm advantaged, in that mine is only in the mid 130s, but I've had that experience before where I'm told to study on my own due to being ahead of the class. I suspect it hinders social development absolutely.

A person with a high IQ does not necessarily mean they earn more money. I have known some people who have high IQ's but refuse to use their talents to their full potential and I would refer these individuals as those having lazy intelligence.

On the other end of the spectrum, you might have those who do not have the intelligence but have the common sense to make it on their own. Those with street smarts possess that talent and drive to better themselves in making the right choices.

The battle of the sexes is a never ending debate ... If people would just simply admit that men and women ARE actually different in many ways, but that doesn't mean that each gender can't be good at any given thing ... it would all be over ... Ahhh but that's too simple.

My issue with what you are saying is this ... IQ means not a dayum thing and my son is proof of that. He is diagnosed with severe autism. He's been given two IQ tests in his short life ... The first one scored a 52 and the second one scored an 88 ... this was in a years span of time. In both tests he is considered mentally retarded .... Now go discuss with his teachers and therapists about him and they will tell you he is probably the smartest boy his age they know. My son amazes me every day with the things he knows and observations he makes that i would never make ... the things he correlates ... well I would never see them if it wasn't for him. But his IQ says he is less smart than any kid his age. Why is this? I've done studies about this ... The IQ test can be very inaccurate depending on your faults and strengths and also depending on when you take it ... how you are feeling, if you are tired, if you have eaten ... there are many variables that don't get taken into consideration.

My daughter who is 3 years younger than my son scores much higher on an IQ test simply because she can communicate in a more "normal" way. It's not fair to my son who sees the world in a different and possibly more brillant way.

I know this was a little off topic ... but ehh I felt the need to respond.

Well sure, we all experience small samples of what's out there as individuals, but it wouldn't stack up well as being a significant sized group if it was going to be a study.

Exactly. Most men want women to be stupid. I guess the best thing to do is either not respond or agree with them.

There may be studies that support this. It seems like I've read some, do you know of any? If so, it would perhaps be men's fault of course for their selection over a period of time.

I have no idea. While others were forming their ideas of social norms, I was the one reading the more advanced material off in the corner. Me personally, I'm all into geniuses of any flavor, Man, Woman, Elephant, or Dog. That skateboarding dog for example, wow! Cool video.

No. The two studies done don't relate to one another in any way. If you combine apples and oranges, you're not going to get a very good pumpkin pie. Know what I mean?

The SAT's are a measure of scholastic aptitude and not cognitive ability and certainly not genetic cognitive ability. Basically, doing well on an SAT means that you're good at taking SAT's. The study encompassed 100K 17-18 year olds. (I can't help but think of those as 'kids' not men and women, but, you know, whatever.) The other study was conducted with 72 married Iowa couples, average age 33, average length of marriage, 7 years. I don't see any correlation at all between the two other than the fact they both involved men and women. Perhaps you can point out why you think they are relevant to one another?
