Personally, and this may apply to no one else, I share my toys because they feel *more* mine when I have the right to pass them around at my discretion and have them back with other people perhaps a little jealous that I have them. It's a shameless ego thing, for which I'm totally unapologetic.

While I would show my pet off to others in the lifestyle. I am very proud of her. Maybe make her do tricks or something.
I would NEVER loan her to anyone, she is mine. I especially would not loan her out for use without my constant supervision. I am responsable for her safety as well as many other things, and she has given me that much trust. I do not trust anyone else, even a good friend, that much. But that is me.

In response to no one in particular other than the OP:

I'm kind of confused by your post and the one's following...

Are you to  be loaned out without him being there? Or will he be present and even participating throughout?

One situation is very different from the other in my mind and I would have different and very opposite reactions depending on which plan it is.

If your Master wasn't pleased with you, he'd probably keep you at home so you could polish up your oral technique.

Why wouldn't you want to share with the world something that makes you extremely happy?  If I had a gorgeous car, I'd let all my friends take a spin in it. [;)]

Well, that's a great analogy!! However on the other side of that, my Master doesn't let anyone drive his car. However, he will take them for a ride - but he does all the driving.

Master says i will grow from this experience but why do Masters share their prized possession?  i promised to please Him and be so good for Him, i am feeling anxious.  How should i feel?  Is Master proud of me?

Why do I share my car with other people by letting them drive it? Because it pleases me. I assume he told you he was into sharing before you committed to him?

purelydevoted -> RE: Master why do you want to share me? (7/18/2007 1:32:10 PM)

I suppose this depends on your situation, and this is my opinion only, but if you are a slave and owned, you are his to do with as he chooses.  He may share simply because he chooses to do so.

This is exactly why I do it.  The only things you can share are things you actually own.  Sharing them is proof that they belong to you.  Until you do something with them that one can only do with property (sharing, selling, transfering title) the Ownership is purely theoretic.

If it's something they want you to do, what is that proof of?  Is it ownership or submission to "force" someone to do what they want and enjoy?

It can be. I don't think *only* things that push people's willingness are signs that you own them. Frankly, if he likes it, that's nice for him. It's not why I'm doing it though.

Yeah, I agree.  But he's portraying this as some sort of "proof" of "real" ownership.  Which I don't think is defensible.

Oh, yeah. I inferred that he was saying this was what butters HIS bread, I could be wrong.
FWIW, I see it the same way, but I'm heavily attached to the objectification in M/s.

Hate to go off topic, but is the mentality of viewing the slave as an object something you had difficulty with when you were still new and inexperienced to M/S?

I get off on the mentality. I love it. However, the mentality itself is something that doesnt completely come natural to me. I tend to think in terms of a partner rather than a slave.

Grlwithboy -> RE: Master why do you want to share me? (7/18/2007 5:12:44 PM)

I'm still pretty new and inexperienced at M/s. I didn't find my way toward M/s till I found the person who aligns really well with this kind of objectification, and only after about 8 years in the scene in different capacities. I've always had a hum/objectification fetish - but really no one who could dance that dance with me the way my slave can.

It's a live-out, non-romantic relationship, sexual at times, but there are many elements that discourage the "partner" dynamic from creeping in. I needed these boundaries for M/s, it jives with how my concept of that works. I can't reconcile M/s to a partner-framed reality, personally. Just my take on it.

MadRabbit -> RE: Master why do you want to share me? (7/18/2007 5:19:44 PM)

Lol...sounds like the opposite of me.

I can do that very easily, but the mentality of viewing my girl as an object or property is not a headspace I am in on a normal basis.

sambamanslilgirl -> RE: Master why do you want to share me? (7/18/2007 5:27:45 PM)

well, op, since we cannot answer for your master perhaps you should take this question off the boards and discuss your concerns with him sans the peanut gallery since it's not going to make any difference what any of us advises you here.  this is strictly a matter you and him.

i wish you well and luck with this

Grlwithboy -> RE: Master why do you want to share me? (7/18/2007 5:32:58 PM)

Not too opposite. It's really counterintuitive for well-socialized and thinking people to do that to other people, so give yourself slack and time.

Only your Master can answer this question for himself.  His reasons may not be the same as others.  I have and will share my slaves and the reasons will vary.   In the end... it pleases me to do it.
