If this tempts you, it is 48 F (wind chill 44 F) right here in central FL. Ghita's place may be a few degrees cooler and BSB's place about 10 F or so warmer. I'm pretty sure that either of them would be happy to host the two of you, if for no other reason than to warm up your chilled bits.

;-)

Oh, and BSB says she has a pool...

;-)

Betcha it's a HEATED pool too!

i actually lived in Florida for a few years...outside of Ft. Lauderdale...LOVED it, but missed the change of seasons...so i moved back home...call it a momentary lapse of reasoning

Right now, outside it is: 7f...wind chill is -4f...although it IS calling for it to hit 40f today (WOOT! That's practically SPRING!)...fat lot of good it does us though because tomorrow they're calling for snow/rain/ice, and Friday they're calling for snow/ice/wind *sigh*....

As long as we're confessing momentary lapses of reason, here's mine. I thought it would be cool (literally I guess) to spend the winter atop Mount Washington as part of the crew up there.

I still do.

Some would say that I'm a sick man...

This sicko is in need of some coffee, so I'm off to see if I can possibly make the world's worst brew... again.

Be well all and have a good day or night.

Considering it has some of the WORST weather (violent/cold/uninhabitable) on the planet, yeah, i'd agree it was a momentary lapse of reason....but definitely cool

Mt. Washington is about 50 miles from us...in a southwest direction...and here's something to ponder,....90% of our weather comes from Mt. Washington and down into the foothills and valleys (where we are)....so it gets pretty rough in the winter.

The coffee isn't as bad as yesterday, but not great either. It's passable. The next pot I try will come from bottled water. Yesterday it was tap, and it was undrinkable. Today it was filtered, and while better, still very rough. At least with the bottled water I'm thinking it can be consistently mediocre.

Currently, it is 50F / 47F with the wind chill, in case any one is coming into Florida right about now...

lol Sappa  Our water (tap) is pretty much the same water that comes out of poland spring (with the addition of fluoride) so tap water works well for us...

My little recipe: Folger's Gourmet coffee....fill the pot a little above the 12 cup line....using an "average" coffee scooper, i put in 6 scoops (for 12 cups), flatten the top and add an extra scoop on top. The coffee, normally, comes out incredible...but then, we like it so our spoon kind of stands up in the cup

Good christ i'm hungry....

I guess the difference is in the water then, for your recipe is how I make the coffee. I will definitely be trying again tomorrow using bottled spring water. Thanks for sharing b. :-)

Good morning bear. And yes, I'm always on the hunt for a good cup of coffee first thing in the morning.
