i just read that thread, Bear and, if i my take a few of the hundreds of books (text and other) off my shelf and smack that "holier-than-thou" up-side the head (hey, HER suggestion, not mine), i'd greatly appreciate it.

I just fired off a cmail to Najakcharmer explaining that my post was not from a fluffy bunny attitude but from my understanding of Druidism. I am not that arrogant to think I know all there is to know about Druids, yet I know enough to keep learning and the idea of what a Druid is sure the hell not what Hollywood projects!

Yea I know Carina  lol. But it's part of my nature to attempt to get a closed minded idiot to open their pea brain and think outside the box just a tad bit more.

She made a bunch of assumptions which, in effect, threw the parts of her "argument" that were actually well thought out and correct out the window.

Honestly...Pagans worship Nature..it's a very SIMPLE belief....resorting to calling all Pagans "Neo-Pagans" (which i personally take as an absolute insult) was very "close minded" for someone who minutes earlier professed one had better "know it all through book reading" before they state their opinion...and what the fuck is so "fluffy bunny" about the worship of Nature? There's nothing "fluffy bunny" there...Nature can be cruel and violent at times. Ugh.... *sigh*

Later Cougar... have a good day. And thanks for the zap!

Bear, I can understand your wanting to help open up small minds and showing them things. Sometimes, though, I have found that small minds like the size they are. They get scared thinking that they may have to manage more and will fight to keep their minds small. To know more or to see more would mean they'd be exposed to the unknown, and they may not be sure what to believe from that point forward.

I applaud you though for trying to help crack open small minds. Your efforts will be worth it if just one formerly small mind comes back to say, "Thanks man, I needed that."

I'm CD.  Nice to meet you, bored.

~hugs up...oh hell, FEELS up the delicious divi, gropes the mama-to-be and leaves gropes for the manwhore and the angelic one from down-under...oh yeah and a pinch for the alluring Aylee's alluring posterior~.  Anyone miss me the last few days?  Missed all of you but the serious threads had a couple that I just could not resist answering.

KOWABUNGA DUDE  *takes a flying leap and pounces CD*

~shakes head, grinning~  Surfs' up, dude?  Now, do I look like a surfboard to you, you salacious beast?

Now...as to serious threads and getting minds to open up...~wicked grin~...I love doing that sometimes although, as I noted last week, every once in awhile you come up on a thread and you spend your time asking yourself "WTF????"

It's like this b, she made this assumption that I believe the hollywood concept of druids/ghosts/etc which is wghere the fluffy bunny reference comes in. Unfortunately she neglected to inquire as to the number of years I spend educating  myself in many different paths before accepting the Wiccan way.

It's like this CD. we keep missing each other over the past week and I wanted to make that pounce very memerable! Plus I didn't want you to think I was neglecting you *grins* I know you are far from being a surf board though the thoughts of riding....erm.....nevermind   *turns red*

I'm an explorer at heart. If someone were to ask me to describe myself with only a single word, I'd have to say "explorer." As such, I usually welcome any chance to expand my knowledge of people, things, places, and ideas. I may not like what I'm exposed to, but at least I'll have some experience with which to base my ultimate conclusions and decisions upon.

In relationships, I would hope that those involved would have open minds with respect to each other, at the very least. That's the only way I feel that relationships can grow and survive.

I also used to think that about online discussion boards, but over the years, I've learned that many who participate do so solely for the purpose of expounding their own knowledge with little regard to the other participants' points of view. They have no intention of opening their minds for any reason, but in some cases, do expect that the others open theirs. I generally avoid the threads in which there are participants who show those traits, for the thread will eventually breakdown into a struggle between two or more immovable minds. That's no fun for me as a participant.

Having said that, I've found myself inside threads which, in the end, ended up leaving me with a nasty taste in my mouth; both here on CollarChat and elsewhere. When these times do come up, it reinforces within me the need to not be among the first to participate in a new thread, but to wait it out to see how others will play in it.

Sheesh... can I ramble or what?

[... returning to the purple sparkly bar for more enhanced coffee beverages ...]

Good morning ng! How's things in your area of the continent?

Bear... I'm thinking you might need a surfin' vacation right about now. If you had the opportunity, where would you go?

G'morning NG *hugs&gropes*

'Twas a good ramble Sappa *nod*

Bear, i just didn't dig on her "modern day fluffbunny NeoPagan" comment....to me, that translates to anyone who follows a pagan path in today's culture....and i was wicked offended.  Yeah, her assumptions need to take a backseat...not very "scientific" of her seeing how she's "first and foremost, a scientist"....pffft.

I'm sorry ng. Here, let me send as much of our warm air up towards you, with good thoughts for wellness riding atop the crest.

In all honsety, there is no way we humans can describe ourselves in one single word and that include you, me and everyone else! Being an explorer of life is both exciting and very frustrating I find. Yet it's my insatiable curiosity which drives me forward!

btw nursy.....mega pounce with lots of gropes, pounces and smoochies

Yes I was offended over that myself.  I was so tempted to throw back the fact that I also carry 2 eagle feathers which had been passed on to me from two separate native elders. And she , as a "scientist" should know that an elder does not just give eagle feathers to a "fluffbunny"  ROFL.

OK, I may not be able to describe myself with a single word, but if I modify that statement to say something like, "a different, single word every XX minutes," do you think I could? ;-)

I'm just messin' with ya. I know what you mean and I think the whole "describe yourself in so many words" idea basically devalues how one thinks of themself.

I really, really do need more caffeine...
