Nah.....since I've been left on my own, I decided to run loose and be wild!

beargonewild -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 2:01:38 PM)

*sigh*

e01n -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 2:03:13 PM)

drive-by spankings: I don't know... I'm more concerned with someone going around giving drive-by biting. If I catch the woman responsible, I might have to subject her to my "Pushy Top Side" as Someone has recently put it.

sneezing: well, I've been finding that giving head tends to cut down on my symptoms as of late. YMMV.

butternut squash: okay, I have about 3# and a picky non-veggie liking woman to cook for. He likes it smashed. Trying to think of different ways to fix it for the family... currently leaning towards doing a sort-of plated bagna cauda-type antipasto with it (squash slices crisped with either sage leaves or mint). But kinda getting a bit stuck. Ideas?

MySQL: friggin' server died and took my recipe database with it. <grumble>

popcorn in the corner: yup, if my machine keeps being this bitchy... I'll be working on toppings/seasonings.

<sigh>: I now have to pay a royalty every time I use it. Hope you're happy Angel... [;)]

you have no idea how funny i find that - serves you right - have you noticed how infectious it's been? royalty, huh, i'm sure it's a real hardship

what about pumpkin soup? with a big dollop of sourcream, sprinkling of chives, its nice. and so few americans have had it.

pumpkin and pancetta risotto?

beargonewild -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 2:15:48 PM)

Buttternut squash: hmmmm, sorry but never had the pleasure of trying ne so I can't help there.

drive by biting: some of us may get a bit jealous of that! Will trade the spankings for the biting. Been ages since I had that pleasure and now the cravings have started up again. Thanks e01n!  *sheesh*

I just got through cooking "Dinner in a Pumpkin", which my whole family loves, and I get a kick out of doing this time of year. Just the fun of cooking a whole big pumpkin, then lifting the lid to serve the contents...... cracks me up. *L*

KMsAngel -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 2:42:46 PM)

what's that exactly?

e01n -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 2:53:57 PM)

The shell of the pumpkin gets used as a serving dish/bowl.

The exact term for it is ... well, frankly my brain isn't working right now. If you'd like to leave it a message, please wait for the tone and make sure you include your phone number if you'd like a call back.... BEEEEEEEEP!

KMsAngel -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 2:57:11 PM)

lol, no, is it a whole meal? savoury with meat etc? or is it soup with the pumpkin as the tureen obviously.

nyrisa -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 3:00:54 PM)

It is one of several recipes, mine is ground beef browned with green and red peppers and mushrooms, cooked rice, a can of cream of mushroom soup, spices, and put into a pumpkin (the seeds cleaned out) and baked. The pumpkin cooks around the filling, so you spoon your main dish out to serve, and then scoop cooked pumpkin from the insides of the shell and serve as your vegetable.

nyrisa -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 3:02:35 PM)

ack, those pics were big! sorry. Now I REALLY want to figure out how to cook a pumpkin pie IN the pumpkin......like a pumpkin custard. But I am not sure how to do so without the moisture of the pumpkin adding too much. Anyone have any recipes for this?

BossyShoeBitch -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 3:04:14 PM)

omg that looks good!!

nyrisa -> RE: Arrrrrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhh! (9/28/2007 3:05:37 PM)

and it is easy. For me, cooking HAS to be easy. *L* Anything exotic is way out of my league.
