Sugar, I was in a commited 6 year relationship and still had one night stands. It isn't an intimacy issue. Yes I realize that sounds ironic.

Purely physical. On the other hand, first time sex can be stressful for the male and the female. Is he gonna think i'm fat, what if i squirt, oh dear god what if i fart.... Sex in a bonded, trusting relationship takes away all those barriers, in my opinion and allows a freedom of expression that makes for more intensity and allows pure pleasure to flow naturally. i'm glad i had some smokin hot one-nighters but would not trade any of them for what i have now.

I am sooooo tired of one night stands. On the bright side, though, I'm a pretty good fuck at this point. So it wasn't a waste of my time; I learned a skill.

I've had a couple but my memory is mainly of being nervous, not knowing if the guy would enjoy what I did, if I would get rejected etc. I prefer sex inside a committed relationship where your quirks are already known and accepted.

OOOOOOh the memories, back in the day......before HIV , I didnt want a relationship, I just wanted "fun" and had some wild one night stands, some slightly "meh" but the last one was the most dangerous... we have been together for 23 years, [:D] Lookin back on it, I was asking for trouble, but was incredibly lucky regarding "safety". Actually sex with a stranger can be liberating because you don’t have to worry about the effect things could have on a relationship. So you are happy to try things you’d otherwise think twice about.

For me, the occasional one night stand is pleasant when I'm not in a relationship.... I had a one night stand 3some this past summer...that was incredible...and totally dispelled my squick factor on sex with anyone young enough to be my offspring. It was even sort of an ego boost. [;)]

it wouldn't be liberating for me to have sex with a stranger or casual play partner. i need to be in a solid relationship before considering sex. personally i want more than a quick fuck that's meaningless and loveless.
