A London accent. Nothing is as soothing to my ear and as well spoken English.

My boy that stays with Me has a thick Jamaican accent, and I LOVE that one.  I also love an Italian accent, of course, LOL

The Welsh have their own language as well. Which sounds nothing like English.
However most I think speak English at home.

........actually there are two variants of Welsh, North and South. Cymraeg De a Cymraeg Gogledd. If one were to survey the whole of Wales you would find that most speak English at home but that is skewed by the concentration of English people in Cardiff and Swansea. If you were to survey West Wales or even North Wales the figures would come out quite differently. Pob lwc i chi.....

I was watching "Coupling" the other day, where one character was trying desperately to hook up with an Israeli woman who didn't speak a word of English... All I can say is, the accent was every bit as attractive as she was.

I used to have a friend who had a west London accent. I loved listening to her talk, and she has a great body... but she was utterly annoying... pity.

I love to hear true coonasses talk (coonasses are what we call Cajuns in the South by the way).  Hollywood never gets their accent right, they always give them the New Orleans accent in movies.  They sound like they are singing when they talk almost

Cajun is my favorite "accent" as well.  My last partner was a true Cajun - born and raised in Terrebonne Parish, LA (a few miles from his home you just drive right into the Gulf of Mexico).  Now, he was a true Cajun through and through.  Authentic "accent" and could speak lots of French too[:)] and cook?  OMG, the shrimp dishes he could craft!  Long before knowing him, I always thought Cajun-speak was the best.

I noticed the same thing among Appalachian folk.  My dad was from West Virgina, and there is a musical tone to the way they talk

I was born and raised in WV and come from a long line of native WV'ians.  I never realized what an accent I had until I'd hear myself on the radio/on tape.  I guess I don't appreciate that accent as much since I'm so used to it but it is nice, for sure.  Now I live in Arkansas and love the southern accents here (though Master doesn't have one at all.  How He lived in the Deep South His whole life and doesn't have an accent, I can't figure.  Maybe He really is superhuman[;)])...............luci

I always preferred the Cockney accent.  For instance, in the movies, I don't want to hear the aristocratic English speak but the street folks in the slums[;)] (like Bill and Nancy Sykes in Oliver Twist).  Sounds so much more interesting to me............luci

I love it when people say they like the english accent . . . what one? For such a small country, they have a lot of accents here. It's like saying you like southern, there are plenty to choose from.

Personally, I'd have to go with english from the west sussex area, for the simple fact that that's what my partner has. I quite like my Northern Michigan (boardering on Yooper) accent too.

I do know there are many english accents but i am unfamiliar with the geography of england as i have never been there. I have yet to hear an english accent i did not like though ... my favourite accent was from a gentleman from Bath if that helps.

My ex used to use a Irish accent! That used to drive me up a wall. It made me so in the mood.

DrkJourney -> RE: What's your favorite accent? (11/25/2007 10:31:34 AM)

I love all accents...they make me melt.   yummmmmm

Of course I am in Texas so I love anything out of Mexico...I'm talking to a guy from Romania right now and it totally makes me hot, especially when he speaks in his native tongue, and he knows it too....lol

About the Cajun accent...you should see Dennis Quaid in The Big Easy...I think that's as close as I've heard from Hollywood.

servantheart -> RE: What's your favorite accent? (11/25/2007 11:21:21 AM)

Mmmm.....nothing like a good Aussie or British accent [:)]

i had a professor from the Czech Republic a few years ago, and her accent was absolutely mesmerizing, i spent more time paying attention to the way she talked than what she was saying!

Didn't know missiles had their own language......[8D]

Momentum -> RE: What's your favorite accent? (11/25/2007 12:58:40 PM)

Yes the dialect is quite unique. The Scudists of the south talk in a slightly higher pitch than the northern Scudists. There are also several branches of Scud with the more coarse varieties being limited to the followers of Princess Detol, the followers of King Span follow the more traditional form of Scud where the speaker ends each sentence with an ‘ududud’ sound.
