Accents, I do find of particular interest, especially those that still hang onto parts of dead languages from the past, celtic, norse etc.

I have not heard my own accent, but from what I have heard of others, it does not locate me to a particular part of my country.I am aware of the Scouse element, and perhaps too the Lancastrian element, but there is also Devonshire in there too.True, I live in Devonshire, but was born and lived most of my life up north until I slowly over the years ventured down south, obviously picking up bits of other accents along the way, Liverpool,Sheffield, Birmingham, Oxford and now Plymouth.

Odd it is, my last employment, that of over a year, my manager was convinced I was from Ireland, yet I have never been there in my life.

Other accents from other parts of the world I do like to hear include English spoken by a person from a Spanish speaking country, The Latin spoken by William Wallace in Braveheart and of course the soft southern Irish spoken by a woman.Others include the Southern US drawl, and Northern Scots.

Being born and raised in southwest Louisiana for my entire life, I can safely say we have probably the wackiest accents out there.  To hear elderly coonasses speak is simply priceless.

My favorite accent is russian.  To hear a woman speak with that accent is enchanting to me.  I know Famke Janssen's russian accent in Goldeneye got me totally hooked.  *blotting the drool from the corner of my mouth* [sm=brush.gif]

Scottish accents to me are very sexy as is a Russian one. There's just something about the more "gutteral" languages that I find attractive.
