I look at it this way..If I had a dog and I woke up at 3am and decided to take my dog out for a run, what would happen? The dog would wake up, wag his/her little tail and happily run alongside me. If it barked at me every time I woke it up, or attempted to play fetch, I wouldn't have much incentive to keep the dog, would I? Why then, should the situation differ to such an extreme degree with my puppyslut? Have you ever had a puppy or dog that lived inside with you? My dog Lady, a cocker spaniel is obedient when she isn't tired, mostly, but if she's on her pillow sleeping or resting or lying on the floor and you want her to go potty, she will put her head up, look at you, and lay back down. You can yell and pester at her to go, and she might either groan lowly and get up and go, or completely ignore you. If you tug at her collar she might snap and growl at you. But you know what, she is a very very very good dog. She's full of personality, loving, and though she's a bit of a princess, she's usually obedient and very good and sweet. I know when not to bait and test her. I don't grab a bone from under her nose.
