what is the shortest verse in the bible? no cheating.... no looking on a search engine....

John 11:35 is the shortest verse in the bible i think, but i am not completly sure.

But what ecaxtly do this tread have to do in the creative writing section? it sould be in of topic.

Actually, it depends on the translation. No idea why that particular version came into my mind instead of the one you posted, which is the way most translations have it, but it did, *shrug* either way it's the shortest verse though.

Anyone remember what chapter/verse "and jesus wept" is? I already know it's the shortest but can't remember.

It depends on which version of the Bible you use. In the New American Bible, the verse throws 'and' in. But whatever version Tom Sawyer used had only the two words.

The NIV has it as simply "Jesus wept"...
