I've never had to use one, but I like: FUBAR (is an acronym a word?)

FUBAR is an acronym that stands for "Fucked up beyond repair."

With my submissives, I use "oware" or "owattekudasai".  This means "stop" or "please stop" in Japanese.

with one Master, many years ago, He chose "broccoli" as my safeword...lol....He said it was definitely easy enough to say, and peculiar enough that just saying it would cause someone to pause....and that once said, everything would stop because we would be laughing so hard....lol....don't know if any of that is true, because i never had to use it.

had to make my daughter and her now husband choose one after taking her to the ER once.... sigh.. but i really didn't want to know the safe word... way too tempting to yell at her and wind her up ...

WEll someone who was so inclined to care that you wanted to stop  would give you a non verbal signal that can be done gagged, like a hanky to drop.

Ok but really what actually happens inthis situation? If you're gagged and really want them to stop?

The safeword in the movie Eurotrip, which is so long I can neither spell nor say it. If you like crude, rude, sex-obsessed dumb movies (what's not to like?) this is one of the best.

When I was sub, I used my Sisters name. That would kill it immediately. ( She is a megga bitch ) Then I changed it to Buttercream ( as in the frosting)

All I know is "Ouch!!!" is not considered a safeword to Mistress.  Neither is:

"I said OUCH!!!"
"Stop, dammit!"
"You fucking sadist!"
"Are you crazy?!"
"What is your malfunction?!"
"Mmmumph!!!"

On top of everything else, blood only seems to encourage her, seeing welts on my tender flesh only makes her horny, and tears only make her giggle.

Seriously though, I don't use a safeword when we play.  Mistress knows how to read me pretty well to start and I trust her to know when to stop if I ever need her to.

Loud bar, set the safe signal because there was no way in hell I could hear clearly anything the bottom said.
Set it up stoplight system like 1finger =Green = Go Go Go
2 fingers = yellow = caution, slow, etc
3 fingers = red = I'm done

Guess which 1 finger was used to indicate OK hit harder?

I've heard "Jackalope", "Rumplestiltskin", "Rotten Tomatoes", and "Moldy Penis" - LOL

I loved one that a previous partner used "Electric Spruce"

By the way, My cubby and I have used safewords in the past, and most of the time they are for the purpose of slowing or stopping an activity... We also have a "secret" safeword because we love the idea of bringing in a third party at times. My cubby knows that if ANYONE comes up to him and whispers <secret safeword> and then gives him a command, he knows "I" sent them and that I am aware of whats happening. I am aware that should I ever share the secret safeword and the third party abuses it, cubby may consider our contract to be null and void. When you use this type of safeword, select a new one so that it cannot be used without your forknowledge. (hope someone can use that idea.

Now, that would just give me a snack attack as I love apfelskievers <German spelling>

My girl uses "red, yellow, black".  The red and yellow are as most use them.  Black is "wrong headspace, try something else".

Now, my crazy switch roomie... using the stoplight method ... started screaming "Pink" at the top of her lungs.

I stopped everything and had to ask.. when she could make full sentences it was "you are over the limit but don't stop"... sheesh

Wow, this thread is old. I haven't read the whole thing... but I will chime in and say that I know someone whose boy's safeword was "That's it bitch, you're fucking done!" I'm in fact not even kidding and these were very traditional Leatherfolk so that made it even funnier.
