I met my boyfriend on here and we live together now. We've been together for about a year and a half now. My sister met someone too but they weren't combatible.

I joined this site after speaking to a Domme friend of mine at a munch...I think I've been a member since December (I haven't really paid attention).  I have ran into several friends from our circle here and have met several others either on purpose or by accident.  Since I'm having trust issues at the moment I haven't met anyone as a potential Master nor as a play partner.  I think its more important to get my trust issues in order before worrying about anything else.

I met both my boys here. I have met scores of others as well, including just recently taking a road trip and meeting several people en route. I also have plans to meet several others who are within traveling distance from me here in Nashville. And Fox and I plan at some point to head overseas and meet a few close friends out that direction as well.
Individual results will vary, of course.

 I have had good success with meeting a few in person..probably 3-4....they have all been pleasant experiences, but nothing serious...most of the subs werent ready for more, or the compatibility wasnt there. I find that too many, especially in my area, are wanting to wait a couple of months before actually meeting, depending on scheduling, time, and so forth..as long as there is constant communication, things have gone well in general

I don't know if you're seeking the same, but I've visited doms to pass the time and explore.  Maybe that'd work for you?

see???   That's great.  i think people become so intent on finding their "life partner", that they forget...hook-ups, casual dates, getting a play partner,  finding someone for  "friends only" are all still valid ways of meeting.  There seems to be this thing...if you don't meet, fall in love, AND get a collar, AND get married, AND  have children, then ultiamately, have his and hers urns containing your earthly remains on the children's mantles...you're somehow NOT a success story. 
edited because...i'm not saying all the true love forever isn't bliss...just saying, it's not everyone's goal here....

i first joined this site in Oct. 2005 and within 2 weeks i had received my first email from my Master.  He and i met in person on Dec. 5, 2005 and on Dec. 30, 2005, i moved from GA to NC to become His full-time, live-in slave.  i have been happily serving Him ever since.

To the OP:

1. In answer to your question, yes, people who have never encountered each other before make connections through CollarMe interaction that may lead them to meet in person and sometimes to develop BDSM, vanilla, and other relationships.
2. The "Positive Experiences" board is specifically for posting anecdotes of successful such encounters. I've posted at least three times myself.
3. In addition to meeting new individuals and potential play partners here, I have encountered acquaintances & friends from the local scene who have CM identities, and sometimes gotten to know them better through this site.
4. As a newcomer to the site, I recommend you hunt up Stephann's excellent post on men seeking women on this site. I believe it is posted in this same board.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've made some good friends through collarme. I met my Dom in RL though, but the friendships were worth it.
