I resent the OP's contention that people who are sharp at math don't have any need to write well.

I'm an engineer and make equations jump through hoops.  I can also describe what I did afterwards.

If you're brilliant and nobody can figure out what you're writing and saying, what use are you?

Grammar=Intelligence

I noticed alot of reponses from people who equate the two.If the grammar, punction and spelling are poor, the person is illiterate.Give me a break.True some responses are ill conceived and poorly structured, but a little leeway should be exercised.

Has it come some of the people's attention there are brilliant people, but are poor at English.Surprise,surprise. I'm famaliar with a university math professor who admits his weakness, grammar, but he is superb in math.I'm not the greatest in English either,I'm a math nerd, love calculus, but that doesn't make me any smarter or dumber than anyone else.

The condemnation I see is abhorant and all too famaliar. One of my favorite authors is William Faulkner, a great in the literature world.I haven't seen anyone on these posts come close to his mastery of writing, but these same people are the biggest critics of English structure.

I feel that some of the subs should be given a chance to impress and show some of their other fine qualities and strengths.

My Mom taught seminars to govt. employees nationwide for years....on grammar, punctuation, semantics...etc.

7 or 8 years ago I bought her a computer.

I've always been a grammar snob.  It just pisses me off when I speak with someone...who can't speak well.

My Mom is one of the singularly most brilliant women on the planet.

She IM'd me some months after she got her computer.

What I read appeared to me as if from someone who had been beaten over the head profusely....after having been dropped off a rather large cliff.

It then dawned on me....some people just can't communicate swiftly or accurately....with a keyboard.

Unfortunately, I had to kill her.

Basic sentence structure is one thing that is important to me.  Im not expecting you to be an editor or anything and know exactly where every freakin comma goes...  Just can they atleast put in a period at the end of their sentence?  I dont care if you spell words wrong every now and then because I do too.  Just show a slight amount of intelligence when emailing me.  Here is an example of what I am talking about.  I got this email today:

Me in a response to him:
Try putting a sentance together for once.  If you reply to me again without proper sentance structure I will just ignore it.  If you are going to try to make an educated argument, than atleast LOOK educated in your responses to me.  I find it hard to believe that you invest in anything when you cant even add a period to the end of a sentance.  Youre whole reply was one giant run on sentence!

Him responding to that email:
i dont care about grammar no do i have time 4 a period you dont have to be smart 2 invest

***I like that part... You dont have to be smart to invest...  Huh?  Ok, good to know.***
