Strength is about how you deal with creating a future-not about dwelling in the past.

Visions are powerful things.

Show me yours.

No, it's about how you choose to live.

How many of us have that power?

What repels me is when a submissive acts as though he is doing me a favor by contacting me. "I am willing to be with you".  What I do not like in my own sub is arrogance. I love sense of humor too. If he can't make me laugh, then chances are I would not be happy with him. I love laughing and playing. I love tickling him and making him almost uncomfortable with my tickling. Laughter and fishing, give them both to me and I am a happy woman :)

Different sense's of humor are nice. i just think that there is a time and a place for everything and that some people will turn everything into a joke even when the conversation is serious and the person really needs help or advice. For example:

Girl says:  after 20  years togeher i just lost my husband
Boy says: Where did you lose him? i'll help you look.

To me that is wrong and shows that the person has no respect or depth of any kind, but to him/her it's funny so that's all that matters.

I guess we all have good and bad habbits. People close to use accept them, that makes it beautifull

You would not like me at all then, for I am a person that even in the heat of anger I will blurt out some sarcastic quip that will alieviate all tensions.  I just don't think that life is long enough not to inject laughter when possible.

And FWIW when my father passed there was far more laughter then tears for we all celebrated his life not mourned our loss.

One of the easiest ways to guage my feelings for someone is when they display a habit that I tend to generally not appreciate and I find it either not so bad or even endearing with that particular person.

Justme696 -> RE: We have all answered this question (1/15/2008 7:31:55 AM)

I recoqnize that too.

Agreed. When I lost my mother, we celebrated her many years on this earth by playing her favorite music and dancing, drinking and sending her off with a big bang. She would have LOVED it!
We all had images of her saying "Pass the bottle, drink it down, hey bartender another round!". We laughed about how silly she was and how much she loved certain things that we didnt like.
She used to say "Cock-a-doodle-doodle-do! Any cock-a do!" lol

After the funeral, me and my brother went fishing. We did this in honor of her love of fishing. It was a beautiful day and my mother would have loved how we said goodbye to her.

Some people have very good sense's of humor' to something that is funny. Some people just aren't into childish, foolish nonsense all the time. unless it comes from a child. and  then again some people will laugh at anything.  To each his own.

Everyone THINKS they have a sense of humor.........

i think we are talking about two different things. Laughter and tears for a loved one one that has passed is a wonderful thing.

And sarcasium  to make light of a tense situation is just as good, but to say something thoughtless as that just for the effect to a person who is devastated, demeaning her feelings and her love for the man she lost does not fall under the catecory of funny to me.

Thank you we thought so. My point is this, not everything has to be so serious all the time. Yes there is a time and place for laughter, but that doesn't make ME a bad person if I choose to laugh at something that other find not funny. I am like Omega, I do tend to blurt out something funny in the heat of an uncomfortable moment or silence. I am the mascott in my family, it is expected of me to do this lol Just call me Chandler <s>

I dont know anyone like this and if I did, I would not associate myself with them.

Edited to add: I try to stay away from people who are negative. This kind of behavior would not be acceptable to me. Surround yourself with positive and you will be positive too.

what repels me?.some one who has no sense of humor.....but an inflated sense of self importance

Jeff

I second, third, forth, fifth........etc etc etc......this. Add to it what Camille said.

If someone can carry an intelligent conversation, has a great sense of humour, good personal hygiene, knows how to be an adult at all the appropriate times but can still be childishly silly and delightful, living joyously.......I want to hang out with them! She doesn't have to have a clue about "protocol" or be "trained" just be honestly submissive to ME, have a inner drive to serve ME. No formal, old way, house of the 12th baird of the purple rose, schooling required. If she loves nature and the outdoors, prefers hiking over watching television, a water fight with the garden hose when its 95 degrees rather than sitting in front of the computer in the AC.........I am grabbing her by her hair and taking her to the farm for keeps.

Major, ewwws. Cigarettes and submitting to destructive life forces......could be drugs, poor choice of friends, alchohol abuse, bad life management....you get the general idea.

RCdc -> RE: We have all answered this question (1/15/2008 8:03:08 AM)

Repels me?  Strong word - ummm... bigotry.  Cruelty - as camille pointedly stated - and gang mentality.
That goes for any persons, not just dominant or submissive.
