Well as you seem to be a good worshipper I will answer you:
1.So, why is it that when I take an oreo cookie apart, that sometimes the frosting in the middle doesn't all wind up on one side?
~Oreo cookies get very lonely without frosting, and since frosting has such a caring nature, it doesnt want to make either side unhappy
2. And why do chocolate chip cookies taste better with milk?
~This one is simple, have you ever seen the goddess of milk? shes hot (and human-looking)
3.And.. why is it that when I open a commercial bag of chocolate chip cookies, the first few are always broken?
~I have gotten this question a lot and the answer is thus... The people making those bags are Heretics... Plain and simple.
4. And.. and and and ... why does chocolate chip cookie dough taste even better than the cookies themselves?
~This is to give the person making the cookies a special treat, so that cookies always get made!

For us, yesteryear is the past. But for our grandchildren, today will be their past. And I will bet you good money that 100 years from now, we will be judged as less civilized than the contemporary society of 2108 AD. Just as, a century past, people thought themselves civilized, and thought their past less civilized. And just as those of 2108 will think themselves civilized, and us less civilized.

Just as we now think ourselves civilized, they will be deluded, as are we, as were our forebears.

That is the truest lesson history can teach us.

Is there a meatspace equilivant of godwin's law? There are places in the world where you are executed in the public square for doing less and your whining and crying about some offduty busdriver?

Oh for fucks sake. When I was younger my roommate and I got dressed up all gothy and I took her around on a leash. Not because we were practicing BDSM, not because she was my pet or my slave, not because we were doing anything sexual at all with eachother. Nope. It was because we wanted to dress up and have fun and go shopping in the alternative part of the down town core and thought it would be fun to do it dressed up. Dressing up does not have to be sexual.

I did that in high school, course I got suspended for it, but it was fun!

His friends paused a minute... and then, one of them said 'well, they WERE nice... wonder why she had a leash on...?" My family member was able to say the leash made her feel connected to him and him to her, hey, let's try that ride over THERE!!" (and off they ran)

Nothing needs to be sexualized. It's simply not necessary.

So, lamenting over the "trauma" of encountering a leash toting couple on a bus, at least to me, just wouldn't be that big of a deal. We'd handle it the way we always do. "Just because it's not your way of life doesn't make it wrong. It just makes it unusual for you right now."

Funny though how, in the interests of "protecting the children,"  we demonize a leash but romanticize a tongue down the throat kiss. Which one is more "sexual?"

Someone laying hands on someone else for living a life differently is discrimination - pure and simple. And all the rationalization and misdirection of views in the world as to the couple's financial status, the location of their activities (in an area that is more conservative - or behind the times as one responder put it), and the "deeper" meanings of leashes and it's implications for the children don't change the fact that it's discrimination.
