The use of the term UM is not personal, it's an effort to follow the TOS.  On this issue the Mods are pretty stringent as the public perception of us regarding this issue should be and is well maintained.

messed up is right. If there is really a child, i feel sorry for it.
 Why?Why would you feel sorry for the UM, and why would you feel it necessary to imply that she is lying? *curiously...*

Using the term UNMENTIONABLE is as pitiful as the judgment used of "taken."

Children are a wondeful blessing... not UNMENTIONABLE.

The use of UM on this site and others is a real slap in the face to children.  Think about how they would FEEL, if they KNEW you called them UNMENTIONABLE.    I wonder how worthy they might feel in your presence, if they heard you call them that.

Not directed to camille specificially but to ALL who use this term.

they're ums due to tos necessity.  no one is making a judgement against them.

In my opinion, for what it is worth, even if this thread is a hoax,  there might be someone reading it in this situation that is afraid to post or ask or start a thread that could use the advice so it is never wasted input or advice.  We never know when the right person will read just what they need.

Edited to Add :  Im NOT saying it is a hoax by any means .. only that IF .. so what

EXACTLY.  this is a NOT a private board or a closed room. you have NO idea who else it reading this thread. i was just too busy in my nonlife to comment on it.

This is very true. I've seen people come on threads and add "Wow, the advice here has really helped me. Thanks to the OP for posting this!" I'm sure they help more people too.

Sir's devoted property
 It is a matter of legality. I don't think anyone here uses UM as an insult. Although I admit it amuses me because it reminds me of the old adage that UMs are meant to be seen not heard. Otherwise there is no emotion tied into using that.  ETA, oops I'm slow. Others already explained the purpose for that particular term.

What she said. I use the term, yet if you met me in real life you'd find that I'm extremely devoted to children and can not wait to have the right circumstances to start making our own little family.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:05:40 PM)

It's like that all the time. I look at age it says 22 and it's listed under orentation, instead of age bracket  length of time on here will say white or black or well any race theyp ut. You look at what the identify as, dome switch sub ect ect an  instead of that it'll  list weight. Collarme's profiles are all messed up for some reason.

Or maybe the site messed them up - when I look at profiles sometimes the weight is under location and location under gender, etc. Or maybe you just read wrong since it isn't that way now.

laurell3 -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:06:06 PM)

I get comments like that in my mailbox by lurkers that don't post often.  I hope this OP is able to respond despite the personal attacks.  I don't think assuming a possible false profile means a hoax for someone with a possible government job is really a wise assumption.

YourhandMyAss -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:09:06 PM)

Actually it's still  breaking TOS according to one mod who told me, the use of code words isn't allowed either.

AquaticSub -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:11:58 PM)

I've gotten such in my mailbox before too. Probably not as often as you but there are some things that people are uncomfortable addressing on the public boards. Even if the OP is a hoax (and I really don't see any reason to believe it is), someone else could have been helped.

slavesunshine -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:13:42 PM)

I am surprised to hear such comments from you takenbyjohnr07.

First of all, to serving a Dom does not have to involve BDSM. One can learn from another without getting hurt.
There is no reason at all for you to be coming down on this girl. And for you to say that this could be a ploy....come on.
If she has the desire to serve and to learn about being a submissive then good for her. There is no reason that she can't do this while she is pregnant. Do not judge her situation. Your words are nothing but hurtful.
And yes you are wrong about finding out early. You can find out that you are pregnant 3 to 4 weeks after conceiving. She came here for advise not to be berated. It was a question that she needed to ask.

mnottertail -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:15:20 PM)

It has been explained ad nauseam that children, younguns, brats, carpet commandos, UMs, kids, fruit of my loins, whatever cannot be centrally themed in the post.  I can mention off hand in non centrally related fashion, that I have a 11 year old daughter that is a black belt, and have not violated TOS.

But more to the point, scroll to the bottom of the screen and read the goddamn thing, then you know what is in and out.  Don't take pride in being ignorant of the TOS, it ain't gonna help you not get busted.

Likes its been said its all about TOS. You never know WHO is also reading these boards looking for ammo. The ebst example I can give is on a picture site I vist we had someone not into anything the boards were about post a very disturbing picture with the comment that we should all off ourselves because of what we were into. Just liek anyone can access that site anyone can access THIS site. The mods are just trying to have all their bases covered and continue to provide us with a free and friendly forum and site.

To the OP As I mother I know what its liek to crave that attention. Me personally I didn't play at all during my pregnancy only because that was my personal choice on top of health concerns. I hope you can find someone who is understanding and willing to teach you what you want and can learn for the next year or so. Like everyone else has said take your time, soon enough all your focus is gonna be on someone else who's going to need all of it.

I have never read Um as unmentionable I have always taken it to mean underage minor.

laurell3 -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:21:08 PM)

Ok I understand the reaction, but I don't think it's helping the OP much.  I'm sure there are those out there that have dealt with this issue, in fact I know there are.

camille65 -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:26:46 PM)

I wouldn't be surprised if the OP didn't return to this thread. There is some good information in here and I think it is important for her to realise that she doesn't have to be alone and that she can ask questions. As far as I can tell no one postedhttp://www.ncsfreedom.org/kap/ That can be a great starting point when looking for a physician or even just someone to talk to about the hows/whens of doing things while pregnant.

sweetwenchie -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:29:32 PM)

To the OP...  you asked a valid question, try to ignore any negative or insulting responses. Take some of the excellent advice given.  :)  Words online only hurt if you let them, and quite a few people tried to give good honest advice.  While  hard play is out for now, you can still learn about this thing we do, and what you want from it.  Read, talk to others, explore the service aspect perhaps.

Good luck to you and your loved ones.

MissHarlet -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:33:22 PM)

Camille,  that is my fear .. that the Op hasnt returned or hasnt waded thru the garbage to read the real advice that has been given.  I hope she has

edited for typos

Lucylastic -> RE: Pregnant and Submissive (2/3/2008 12:34:50 PM)

Laurell, I agree, which is why I posted first to pregnavygirl earlier with my thoughts and feeelings about her situation, I wish her luck.
I apologise for just making the "drama" worse and with that im outta here..
Lucy
