yeah.. for me the step programs are best because I'm with people like me.. the steps thing itself didnt work so well for me... it was more about being with people who aren't drinking..LOL
gawd, does that even make sense?

Yes you got more out of the fellowship then the program is the way I woul;d put it. The fellowship is meetings and such. The program is the steps and such...

I did to for a long time but I recently wnet through the steps with someone who could explain them to me in a way I understood and it was awesome.

yes ma'am I can relate and have similar issues. All those interpersonal related ones are tough at least when I wanted dope I could go buy dope and it will pretty much act the way I wanted. People are much more difficult and you cant smoke them :)

Just a suggestion Ma'am;

The fellowship is great but if you find the right person the steps are a wonderful way to learn about yourself in my experience.

I discovered allot about where my anxieties and fear originated from and how they manifest themselves today in ways that are not condusive to my own well being or peace of mind.

Well the CM team is obviously having issues keeping there DB from crashing. Someone asked me for some information but the email was delelted and the fact that they visited my page was deleted as well so I have no idea how to find you now.

I am in recovery, but I am not a 12 stepper considering I have managed 'controlled drinking'. If I ever become a moderate drinker (one to two drinks a day) I will quit and abstain completely. I have been 'clean' for about 6 years. Although, I do work in the treatment field. I would allow you to add me as a friend if it was possible, my profile is currently hidden. I enjoy making new friends/contacts in recovery.

Anyway, I don't know of any specific such around here, but I do know folks with addiction issues who reject that thread of recovery that is very Xtian, very narrowly based. Look for an "AA for AA" group (Alcoholics Anonymous for Athiests and Agnostics) in your area.

Also, every year at IML there are a number of meetings by and for leather folk. Seems to be a pretty good bet that you'll find recovering folks into your kink.

Thank you I will look into the IML suggestion. I dont know if I would be into Athiest or Agnostic groups there is also a recovery program called Rational Recovery that is a fairly popular with Athiests. However I am not an Athiest :) and I am not a Christian I am asuming that is what Xtian is. I am not a buddhist or a Doaist. I am not hindu or Wiccan. But I do respect everyones belief system even those who dont respect other religions and in my experience many of the more vocal Athiests or Agnostics are just as bad as the Christian coalition :).

does this go against the 11th tradition? oh well...

yep...i go to NA, my Domly-type-that-we're-still-teaching-about-this-lifestyle-so-we-still-refer-to-him-as-my-boyfriend (the we, being me and the mouse in my pocket) i met in the rooms and he swings both way...that is he goes to NA and AA...he has 10 years and i have 10 months (as of writing this) and no, there wasn't any 13th stepping involved...I know a Dom that was so nice as to stick needles in my back last fall that has double digits that attends AA regularly, he knows a couple of women with multiple years in AA....we're out there...i am a bit more obvious if you're in the program because i have the NA symbol tattooed on my forearm, if you know what you are looking for...

anywho...if you want to email me an outside email address we can chat off the boards...i can recieve CM mail but not send out mail through CM...

Actually no it doesnt violate the 11th tradition as I am not trying to recruit people into the rooms. If anything it might skim by the 12th tradition about anonymity... but my belief is different then most about that topic...

I have been a friend of Bills for 21 years. There are a few things you should be concerned about. Do not replace BDSM for your habits. and become addictive to an unhealthy state of kink. Also, you need to be careful with golden showers and drinking urine. Make sure you know what is inside the body of those you drink from.

It is funny, I belonged to an adult child focussed alanon group and despite it being in the middle of the Bible belt and most of the people were involved in their churches it was the most open accepting group I have belonged to.
