When my partner ate a lot of unhealthy food or drank a lot of alcohol, or didnt consume enough water it was a terribly bitter yucky taste. Once I said something he would drink more water. (strange I know, but try it) Some men just naturally have stronger, less pleasant taste I hear. Some taste like candy. Lucky suckers!!

I recall reading, that your average American is in a perpetual state of dehydration (coffee, alcohol, or whatever), and this is an (undisputed) unhealthy thing. SO, having him drink more non-diuretics... is a health service for him :) Win-Win!
