Try these:
http://www.seniors-exercise-videos.com/Baby_Boomers_Active_Seniors.html

Quote from the page:
"These  Strength Training Exercise Videos/ DVDs are Great for Women, Baby Boomers, Busy Women, Moms, New Moms, Working Moms, Brides, Overweight and Obese people who do not want to go to gyms and workout on machines. And for those who do not have 3 hours a day to waste on Gyms or fiddling with machines."

I just Googled for senior's DVD's - because it sounds as though that is the level of exercise you need to start with, based on your responses to other suggestions.

And yes, you should check with your Doctor first.

you could try investing in a treadmill, i know their expensive, so i go to the gym to use it. about a year ago, i could barely do 20 mins walking, but recently ive been put ona training programme because im doing a course which as well as doing other stuff, it gets up your fitness levels ready for the army entrance tests.

i did need a lot of dedication, but  doing simple things like step ups on the stairs until u dont feel you can do it anymmore, take a little break, and then do it again. try and build up your leg muscles by doing squats, or squat thrusts, try sit ups, press ups,  get a medicane ball and do some chest thrusts, there are loads you can do around the home. if you have a big enough area, set up a circuit with different equipment, or different basses where you do different things at, do 30 seconds on each, then move onto the next, and go round the circuit a few times, listening to dance music or something. ive been doing intense training like that, and doing it everyother day for a few weeks should really help. i can now run 20 mins on the treadmill easily. you just need a bit of determination

if you want to start a lot of excercise and your body isnt use to it, i wouldnt advise being on a diet at the same time, ok, cut out sweet stuff ect, but you still need ur carbs, ect, you'll need more energy than what u usually need.

getting urself motivated in the 1st place is the tricky part, but once you stat, doing the excercise will boost your energy, self asteem, and just generally make u feel like a better person.

WillowmoonI'm not making excuses at all I'm stating valid facts.  And I never chose to live in this neighborhood there are other circumstances that I have had no choice over that landed me here. If you see these things as excuses than you are only seeing a very limited view and don't see the or know the whole picture. And about taking doing things in my community. I can't do that where I live. I'm in an apartment complex and I wouldn't have a clue how to get it started or where to begin. I have other things going on in my life right now than to worry about that right now.I thankyou for your opinion though.

AlumbradoWaiting and planning is actually a much better idea than just jumping into something anyways so I'm afraid I have to disagree with you on that one. Jumping into things full force that I haven't planned out is how I have failed in the past and I don't want to make that same mistake again. I also thankyou for your opinion and suggestions.

As for the doctor I have seen a doctor and she has not given me any particular suggestions besides maybe possibly trying an appetite suppressant..... I don't know why everyone keeps asuming that I havent seen a doctor but I have and she doesn't seem to mind me doing things to get my weight down.

Anyways I have started on the Jenny Craig weight loss program so I'm good to go with nutrition and thankyou to those that posted those links. I have bookmarked both of them and they both look like something of what I was seeking. It will greatly help and I appreciate it.

I used to have a Raquel Welch Yoga tape. It was divided into beginner, intermediary and advanced . Needless to say I never made it to advanced. I would do the beginner, or as much of it as I could, and then rewind it and do it again the next day. I didn't start out doing all of the beginner and when I moved up to the medium level, I couldn't do all of it at first. And that was fine.

I suggest googling beginner yoga dvds and picking one. Or beginner Pilates. But a yoga mat would be better to use than a blanket, and I find a theraband is really helpful and cheap.

I don't understand why you can't do pilates. My beginner pilates partner when I took classes was a woman with crippling arthritis. She did what she could and simply skipped over the stuff she couldn't. But a yoga mat would give you needed cushioning to avoid stressing weak areas.
