I prefer Neuhaus or Godiva, both are brands from Belgium. And as a German I am very interested, what are the german brands you are referring to?

I've never been to Belgium or Switzerland but some of the best chocolate I've ever had was in Ireland.

It really depends on how you define best. I'm not a chocolate lover really and most prefer white "chocolate" and high fat content. A company I worked for previously had headquarters in Belgium so we had chocolates from there constantly and it got pretty generic. I've also lived in Ireland and traveled in Western Europe so sampled a lot of those types. They all had different aspects to them that could be more or less appealing. It's as bad as deciding where the best wine comes from :)
