Are You A Democrate, Republican or Southerner?

Damn, I guess that makes me a democratic southerner then. I'd ask all of those questions...afterward...and to my lawyer.

LOL!!

I know some people seem to find your post funny, but personally, it made me shudder. I thought it stank. Owner's post was harmless; yours screamed murder and prejudice.

But I'm sure it's nothing to do with your political affiliation  .

Oh, c'mon kittenSol!  It is funny and based in the truth to a certain extent which is what makes it so funny.  Are you really that sensitive?
You need to look at it in the context of the posed situation.

quote:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small
children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you.

You are carrying a Glock 40cal, and you are an expert shot.
You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family.

What do you do?

What would you do if you were in that position?

I am thinking your answer would be that you would not have the Glock, or any weapon for that matter, i  the first place.  *Sigh*  Well, that didn't save you or your family, did it?

Murder had nothing to do with what was posted.

The word murder stirs a powerful response though and so its often used in the context of any sort of killing.

And frankly, your avatar *is* more murderous than that post ... I mean, its a cartoon girl pointing a big assed gun out at the world. What other possible implications could that have?

Absolutely... my avatar is of a ridiculous muffin-topped cartoon toting a canon - surely, you realise that in no way is it a profound reflexion on the nature of its owner  ?

God forbid I ever make a joke about a moronic Christian American machine gunning an entire school - people would be jumping right down my throat, and not in a fun way  . I suppose that then, I could claim it's humour, couldn't I? But something tells me, few other people would see it that way.

Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. He doesn't mention that the beloved conservatives have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day. Joe agrees: "We don't need those big-government liberals ruining our lives! After all, I'm a self-made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have."

Joe who?  [Sorry, inside Canada joke.  Google "Joe Clark" and "Parliament" if you're interested.]  I could see this as Joe Clark.  He was a PC [Progressive Conservative - similar to your American Republican party].

From that:

Hey, like I said, all harmless humour. Right?

OK so defending yourself and your family against attack is murder ...

Uhm, what is it if you do nothing and your entire family is stabbed to death? Political freedom of expression?

edited to add

If someone killed the "Moronic Christian American" who was shooting up the school, would that be murder too?

Maybe you don't see my point of view (I see yours, don't worry). Perhaps it's a question of cultural sensibility - I'd be glad to explain the whole thing to you in private, maybe another day. I'm too tired to start dishing out free lessons on the prejudiced nature of redneck humour.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide. You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children.

Southerner.

Is immediately killed...Didn't get off of his cousin in time to ward off the attacker.

Democrat.

Disarms the attacker. Didn't shoot him because he doesn't feel the need to carry a weapon. Doesn't walk around afraid of his own shadow and afraid of eveything that appears foreign. He believes that bad things can happen but is not going to allow that fear to rule his life...He never really considered whether the attacker was Islamic or not...It really didn't seem relevant to the situation. He goes on, lives his life with understanding and compassion.

Republican

Immediately shoots the attacker. Out of fear simulatenously shoots and kills five other Americans, two of Indian ethnicity , one Phillipino, an African and some white chick who just got out of the tanning salon. Figured they were all Muslims and all Muslims are terrorists like that Obama Hussein Bin Laden guy running for the Presidency.

Because of the attack he starts a war on all Muslims. Thousands are killed and wounded. He cares not. It is all justifiable.

He goes home. Cheats on his wife. Goes to church on Sunday. and complains of the immoral conduct of the liberals.

It's all sooooo sad.

ya know there are just certain groups of people you try to talk to.. you try to reason with... but as our govt was so smart in saying You just cant reason with some people. ( They were talking about terrorists)

I am glad people have different views.. it makes the world intereseting.. but when ever a group of people as a whole get emotional so invested that when you step onto thier side of the "world" or board or what ever.. and you try and have a conversation.. and your posts dont mimick thiers they feel slighted and that they have to belittle and explain themselves adnausem... you begin to realize there just is no "dealing with" some people.

I guess there are these "known truths" out there that some of us just dont know about or dont proscribe to.

all Islamic's are terrorists..
all Democrats are pussies...
all Republicans are gun toting shoot first ask questions later kinda folk
all Southerners ride around in pick up trucks and go a hunt'n
America is better then any other nation in the whole wide world and if you dont stand on a soap box screaming that you should move the fuck out.. or be shot.
All any woman needs is a big enough strong enough man to rule over her.. if she steps out of line a bloodly lip will straighten her out.
Liberals are evil, want to tax us to death... and want to issue mind control chips at birth
Conservitives have a direct line to the almighty and will save us all from the heathens

Let me know if I forgot any.

Gwyn,
who spent most of her Sunday with one of her best friends from church who is in the RNC.. and is seeing him tonight.

You conveniently overlooked the main one....
"You don't want the koolaid our leaders have prepared for us?  You must be one of them!"

Captures the attacker with the help of some illegal aliens. But that can't be. They are only here to get free health care, sell drugs, and have kids. Right Joe?

No monkey in this barrel, but don't you view your comment as a tad ironic considering your avatar? Considering your observation, is that gun pointed out reflective of your "political affiliation"? Does it scream "murder and prejudice"? How are we to determine if it is "harmless" like Owner59's post.   I "shudder" at the direct visual reference it represents to shooting anyone.

Hey Merc,

That could be a "luv" gun.
