Larry the Cable Guy can be fairly right-leaning.

Especially after a couple of drinks. Ba Da Bing! Next show is at Noon....

Okay....Someone told me about this post because I have blocked your dumb Texan ass.....

Do people think that Larry the cable guy and Jeff Foxworthy are funny? They make me sad.

Strangely, Larry's written material, that used to be on his site, could be extremely funny.... but his stand-up act doesn't do a lot for me. Foxworthy, is sometimes funny, but more often it's a "ahhh, yeah, cute" kinda thing.

Now, "sad"...... is blocking my posts, and depriving your cheese-gorging, Old Milwaukee-swilling self of my wisdom.

It just shows me how much people are sheep. Larry and his ilk started off as an ironic twist to "countryfied" humor, a throwback to vaudville and "Hee Haw" reruns.  (Observational humor for people who didn't quite make it through high school.) It helps the socially unsophisticated feel like they have an edge in pop culture. Now everyone and their dog is jumping on the bandwagon, thinking it's cool to be stupid, drunken rednecks. It's the latest fad in American entertainment. Thus, Larry the Cable Guy movies, and the regrettable "southern humor tour" documentary. And that's all it is, of course... a fad. A short lived trend. It'll die out, the same way Porky's sequels did.

"Hee Haw" + "sheep" = TOS violation.

There is a great email floating around the conservative spectrum, DC, detailing a bunch of contradictory beliefs that would be considered liberal.  Some of it was a bit too fundy for my taste, but it was a real thinker on some other points.  Poof, every time.

I had one vanish from under my reply about two days ago.

Makes me shake my head a bit, and find different ways to approach the topics.  I'm stubborn that way.

And this happened here on CM? That's disturbing.

I will point out one thing about the old "Hee Haw" show that I found worthwhile: Misty Rowe (and all the other girls on the show) I have fond memories of the Playboy photo spread Misty did long ago.. it was one of those visual aids that helped get me through a really rough adolescence.

Are you a Democrat, a Republican, or a Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide. You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock 40cal, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Southerner.

Is immediately killed...Didn't get off of his cousin in time to ward off the attacker.

Democrat.

Disarms the attacker. Didn't shoot him because he doesn't feel the need to carry a weapon. Doesn't walk around afraid of his own shadow and afraid of eveything that appears foreign. He believes that bad things can happen but is not going to allow that fear to rule his life...He never really considered whether the attacker was Islamic or not...It really didn't seem relevant to the situation. He goes on, lives his life with understanding and compassion.

Republican

Immediately shoots the attacker. Out of fear simulatenously shoots and kills five other Americans, two of Indian ethnicity , one Phillipino, an African and some white chick who just got out of the tanning salon. Figured they were all Muslims and all Muslims are terrorists like that Obama Hussein Bin Laden guy running for the Presidency.

Because of the attack he starts a war on all Muslims. Thousands are killed and wounded. He cares not. It is all justifiable.

He goes home. Cheats on his wife. Goes to church on Sunday. and complains of the immoral conduct of the liberals.

It's all sooooo sad.

Another moment of clairity...

*just smiles*

I love it! {the OP}, so true, I wonder what our world would be like
without these liberal's and their causes.

it would be China.

Look at thier Air and Water polution. Every one is sick, and choking because big biz was more important then clean water and air. Human rights mean nothing. The sick and poor can go get fucked because they have no say.. why should they.. they are not contributing. Women well.... why should we even talk about them? What ever faith or lack thereof the govt believes is rammed down the peoples throats. Anything else is subversive. All sexual anything is strictly controled. The internet is monitored, and certain words can not be used or uttered with out the govt comming down on you.

Yep.. we would be China.
