Romney was reamed by the Media concerning his Mormon background.

Obama gets a pass.

That's what this is all about.

Prick up your ears for this, it's a big secret:
This thread is about the views of Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr.

Everything else is guilt by association bullshit. And I've already commented on that.

Worse than that, Obama seems to think that the cool kids to hang with are the ones who hate whites. No, if he didn't agree with that Pastor's rantings he should have completely avoided the "teachings" spewed forth in his church. Obama's church. Why go into a den of hatred for twenty years - I'm sure that Sugar would have a completely different opinion had this situation been reversed, and it were a more Conservative figure attending to such a hateful congregation.

Sanity:
What did the preacher say that is untrue?
It would seem disingenuous for someone to call the truth hatred.

Sorry, but the person I vote for will stand on their own merits, not the merits of what they hope others will think of them. That person will be mindful that they are running to be elected to run a country,
The president in this country is appointed not elected.  He is in fact appointed by people who themselves are appointed by a group of people who are appointed for us to choose the "lesser of two evils" from.  But then I am sure you knew that already.

the greatest nation EVER,
I suppose you should define what you mean by the greatest nation EVER.

without apology for being great,
Without apology for enslaving millions.(blacks)
Without apology for murdering millions.(native americans)
Without apology for withholding suffrage from half of its population.(women)
Without apology for wars of aggrandizement.(too many to name)

without hinderance of trying to appease everyone.

Doing the right thing is rarely the popular thing to do.
V ring six o'clock

Feel free to move to the next nation in line for greatness. Let me know how it goes.

This article pretty much speaks for itself.

http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/03/14/obamas-spiritual-adviser-questioned-us-role-in-spread-of-hiv-sept-11-attacks/

You mean as a hate-mongering, lie-spreading, mudslinging "fair and balanced" rant by America's Pravda? Agreed.

This speaks for itself, too:
"“I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it’s on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue.”

Yes, that's pretty obvious by all those photo's of him refusing to honor the American flag.
Least we know why now though.

Another interesting thing i've noticed on here is the ability some have to decide based on a particular point of view someone else might espouse that he or she is a racist. Are people in the vanilla world this wise or is it only here on collarme that one meets such wise people. Is it possible not to like Obama because your i don't know maybe a republican or maybe you really liked Bill Clinton and you figure what the f--k at least he's in the house. My point is there are a million different reasons someone might or might not vote for Obama. One of them might be because of this blowhard preacher who knows....one man or woman one vote come November we all vote according to our own belief system...Assuming Obama is the democratic nominee and he doesn't win is that proof that the majority of the country are racist's,and if he does win does that prove we have no race problem? Is this election solely about race...

It's amusing how those that are up in arms over Obama's politics, friends, church and pastor (and choice of toilet paper will be next), are also those that whine endlessly about the supposedly easy ride he's had to get where he is "thanks to his race" - people, the level of your discourse isn't even at ground level.

Hypocrisy isn't a crime, but it doesn't make your motives any less transparent. And mass hysteria speaks of nothing else than the fear of losing.

You're right! We must be absolutely INSANE to question one of the people who is running to lead to most powerful nation ever to exist... one with enough power that it can end all life on Earth, forever.

What are we thinking???

Actually this is pretty cool ,Obama runs for President and we get to combine two of the most divisive issues in this country.Than this preacher opens his mouth and we get the holy trinity Race, Religion and Politics.Maybe we as a country come out all the better for it.....somehow i doubt it....

Good point, it may make us a better nation and people when all is said and done. Thanks for pointing that out...interesting perspective.

I can only hope you're right.

I noticed at school how they opted for cheap tracing paper like material. Myself I opt for quilted double velvet but the effectiveness of it really depends on what I have eaten the night before, I find.

You said it, mate.

It's not the questioning of a potential presidency candidate that's appalling; it's the level of questioning, and the choice of issues that are being put to debate.

You choose to faint like a raped nun at what his pastor said rather than look at his policies: maybe it turns you on? Who knows what goes on in the minds of some people?

Just don't expect the rest of us not to laugh at you.

No offense, but I'm just not seeing all that much thinking here.  There's a whole lot of frothing at the mouth and plenty of jerking knees, but not so much thinking.

Once again, for those in the cheap seats:

“Let me say at the outset that I vehemently disagree and strongly condemn the statements that have been the subject of this controversy,” he said in the statement. “I categorically denounce any statement that disparages our great country or serves to divide us from our allies. I also believe that words that degrade individuals have no place in our public dialogue, whether it’s on the campaign stump or in the pulpit. In sum, I reject outright the statements by Rev. Wright that are at issue.”

Spare us the sound and fury.

Policies? What fucking policies? "Yes we can!" is not a policy, it's an ad-line.
"I'm Black" is not a policy!
Saying "I will immediately pull all troops from Iraq" is not SOUND policy, it is called GENOCIDE.

So what, pray tell, policies are you speaking of?

No, I think these are fair questions.

Seems to me there has been alot of people pointing out that Bush and his administration and party hasn't fucked up, its bad intel and the congress and so on.

So, does anyone have a link to what the pastors of these republican anti-homo guys are uplifted with when they get caught trying to suck off cops in the airport bathrooms?

These cocksuckers are pretty powerful too....While we're at it, do you think that Nancy Pelosi gives good head?  These are serious issues,  I remember no end to the issue of President Clinton getting a wad semi-swallowed, hell, it tore this country apart, he was impeached for it.

Oh, yes, let us examine the gnat and swallow the camel.

Kittinsol please  tell me as a voter what if any questions are we allowed to ask without being labeled a)racist or b)hypocrits. This nation seems on the brink of finally putting forth a man of color as a serious(my apologies Mr. Sharpton and Jackson)canidate for it's highest office, and all political discourse is deemed racist and hypocritical. If we look back at other campaigns you can still see the wrecks of many a political career that crashed and burned under the glare of a presidential run ,and they are ALL white. This country can't afford to elect Mr Obama simply because he's black any more than it can afford not to elect him simply because he's black .And please don't bother with the responce i know i'm BOTH a racist and a hypocrit.Maybe i will run into in November when my son (big Obama booster by the way)go  to one of the contested states(ohio?) to volunteer for the democratic nominee whether it's him or her....
