Hey Cyberdude i agree the democrats throw money at a problem in the hopes of fixing all that ails you.But at least they don't run 2 wars and cut taxes at the same time.Total fiscal insanity is whats taking place under the current administration .Now if Obama has an actual plan other than business as usual wake me up when he lets the rest of us in on it,in the meantime as i've said before i will vote for whomever the democrats nominate in the hopes of seeing this country brought back to the middle of the road a little bit, because lets face it neither of these partys hold the ONE TRUE answer we just have to hope they don't fuck it up too much. After 8 years of rep. its time to let the dems. swing it back the other way just a little...i know its a fucked up way to run a railroad, but what are you going to do vote for an independent candidate...

Hold the fuckin phone!!!!

Was I eating fishsticks and ketchup in the school cafeteria and missed Fox News 24/7/365?  Was I drunk? Obama has attended KKK meetings for 20 fucking years?  How the fuck did them guys not know?

Yeah, that is a fucked up situation, and if John McCain has proof of that, I think he should let the american people know about it.

C'mon....How many Presidents have held council with some of the biggest right wing pastoral pricks to walk this Earth?

Did Reagan ever meet with Falwell of Robertson ....What about Dad Bush? When are you going to realize that spiritual leaders for the most part are complete assholes....When they finally find the spotlight how many conduct themselves in a Christian manner? Hmmmmmmm....Let me think....Oh, now the answer comes to me....NONE!!!! They are all complete God fearing fuckwads!!!

I agree, but what does that have to do with Obama and his asshole-guy?

I don't give the Falwells, Swaggarts, Bakers, or Robertsons a pass, and I won't give Wright one.

Anita can take it up the ass any time she wants, as long as I don't have to see it.

That is an option and why I said earlier in another thread that the failure really belongs to the citizens of the US.  It might feel good to blame, but we've always had them outnumbered.  A most powerful statement of protest would be to refuse to shop for a week, but US citizens can't even pull it off for one day.  If nothing is changing, it is not because US citizens (consumers) are not a force to be reconned with.  It's because they act like sheep.

No, it's not pathetic. What's pathetic is how you usually sink to lowly personal attacks in the place of rational debate. My question was a good one, and it still begs an answer.

Sorry DG, but many, many people are going to be PISSED OFF.
I am surprised you can't figure that out.
Come on now, baby?
You can't see shit hitting the fan over this?
I mean really?

Call Govenor Spitzer and ask him how his shit is hanging now.

People do look at what people in certain positions DO,
and are LOOKING to bring them down!

Put your picture up on here and then go run for Mayor.

i like Pastor Wright - he's not afraid to speak his mind especially at the pulpit on Sundays.  besides he's not the only Black minister who does that either.

Obama's Gave $22,500 to Racist Church in 2006
Source: http://gatewaypundit.blogspot.com/2008/03/obamas-gave-22500-to-racist-church-in.html

That would be the equivalent of me giving $22k to the DNC, or the current version of the RNC for that matter.

It would?  Do you consider either of those groups to be your church?  That's pretty fucked up, Merc
Seeing the way people have a faith based belief in all that's done in the name of either the DNC or RNC, yup - it's a 'religion'. Some people are more orthodox than others, but it reminds me of my days as a member of the 'one true church'. By definition anything said, coming from, or associated by any other church was considered blasphemy.

You don't think that's the case?

quote:

quote:

So what is he, a hypocrite, or a believer?

I might be going out on a limb here, but I think that makes him a parishioner who made a donation to his church.

I checked, there are 14 noun definitions for the word church http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/church . All of them have a reference indicating a community sharing common belief.

Lets use your word - parishioner. Only one definition there; "one of the community or inhabitants of a parish." He is a member of the community who's beliefs are represented by the Church. If you'd like I can post a reference to a Senator Obama quote saying that Reverend Wright was "inspiring". He's been "inspired" for 20 years. Confirming his affiliation during that time by service as well as monetary contributions.

I would never suggest that I have more integrity than Senator Obama, but the only other time I was a member of Church outside of Roman Catholic, I was a 'baptized' Methodist. The pastor really was my "inspiration" in becoming 'spiritual'. One day - he announced the closing of his community outreach service into the gay community in NYC. They ran a bible study program for gay men. The reason given was that there was pressure exclude gays from within the 'Church' 'community'. Not that I donated $22k back in those days, but I quit the Church that day - turning in my choir robe. I would think if I stayed my membership would represent complicity, if not, it would have represented hypocrisy.

Bottom line - I agree with you, he's a parishioner. Pragmatically, the decision is to  be comfortable with his belief, and his parish, or church, or not.

What do you think - as a parishioner of this church - will this help him get elected in November? If he is the party's choice Senator McCain will save a shit load of production fees on his advertisement. All he has to do is run Senator Clinton's, and show Senator Obama calling Reverend Wright an "uncle" while playing his sermons in the background.

WOW-Its going to be a FUN summer with these campaign to watch!

Calling your inane comparison pathetic is not a personal attack.  Calling you inane and pathetic would be a personal attack.

Equating a church with an extremist hate group whose members are responsible for the murder of untold numbers of people, church bombings, school burnings and firebombings is pathetic.

Obama wrote that he had known of similar statements by Wright over the years, which he strongly condemned. He wrote that he chose to remain in the church because “Rev. Wright was on the verge of retirement, and because of my strong links to the Trinity faith community.”

This answers my question on his staying there.

I'd have left, personally.
