Save old batteries for loud toys. They'll still work, just at a more reasonable volume. New ones in flashlights, half used ones in loud toys. Only thing that got me through their childhoods!

The problem is that on the one toy, Mr. Smarties comes up and looks sadly in your eyes and says "Pooh and Kessie sound sad now. They're not singing very happily."

How can you turn that down?

(It's a Nature Sounds Winnie the Pooh, that plays several little songs...)

I hate it when I schedule time with my "babysitter" so that I can go out and do a couple of things away from the house, and away from dad - only to get called by the babysitter to be informed that His babysitter (the one who keeps my yr old goddaughter while he's over here with dad) canceled on him suddenly so THAT babysitter could do something out of the blue. Which leaves him in a bind, which in turn leaves Me in a bind. And of course, he finds out to late about His lack of a babysitter for me to be able to call and make arrangements with the hospice company to send out one of their volunteers as a replacement babysitter.

Now I'm left stuck without a babysitter for dad, unable to leave the house to get anything done, and had promised to help a friend of mine get moved today and tomorrow from her folks' house into an apartment. Now I'm going to have to cancel on her, because I can't leave dad home by himself for the several hours that it will take us to finish packing her stuff, load it, move it from one side of town to the other, and unload it - which leaves Her in a bind as well!

Sage, she is - it's just Extremely frustrating to me. I gave her my word I would help, now I'm having to break my word - which really, Really bothers me. And on top of that, she HAS to be moved by the end of the weekend - she's a micro-bio major in college full time, and works in a nursing home as a CNA full time, and is in the midst of planning her wedding. She's been living with her parents while she was in college, but they're flakes and decided that if she took the CNA position - even though it pays well, helps her keep her college tuition and her bills paid without asking them for anything, etc - that she would "deliberately" bring home some sort of nasty virus in an attempt to kill them! (Can we say looney tunes paranoia time? I knew we could!) So when she took the job anyway on Monday, they kicked her out and gave her til the end of the week to get the fuck out. Today and Tomorrow are the only 2 days that SHE has - because these are her days off from work - in which to get everything packed and get it out of there and into her new place. Most of it won't fit in my van - much less her lil bitty (but extremely fuel effecient) car - so we were planning on loading it into my truck - which is with My Babysitter, since I've been letting him drive it while his car is down. After all, I can't drive both the truck and the van at the same time, and there was no reason for it to sit and rot when he was in need of running transportation in order to get over here to do the babysitting for me that he does! So not only is she short the person who has all the experience in getting packed, loaded, and moved rapidly - she's short the large enough vehical to move things with.

I hate that I'm such a goober, and didn't realize just HOW happy my Sageling was.

I hate that I haven't called Her, so I didn't know what was going on.

I hate that I have been so self absorbed lately, that I missed something VERY important in a real good friend's life... :(

(But I love that She just laughs at me for it. :) )

BIG Hugs to you Camile...sometimes it helps to write out the pain..and if it gets to a place you can share it with him..do so. Sometimes they don't KNOW they hurt us, even when they don't mean to, they can, but they can't read minds.

Rhi it will work out..if she can get the stuff packed today, maybe tomorrow you will be able to help her with the actual move. Hang in there sugar..Florida is in your future.
