christine, I agree with those who have said that the scale is not your friend. Neither are most diets. There is a book titled "The female Fat Cell", I don't recall the author's name. It's a short book, but it is the best thing I have read on the topic. It also suggests a way to acheive permanent weight loss in a healthy way. If your library doesn't have a copy, they can order one for you from another library.

i agree with you cjan. i'm not really dieting...i'm making better choices and exercising. i'm doing the old more calories out than in routine. it's working and isn't killing me, (so far).

She is 20 years old and otherwise in good health. Well... aside from the nasty mats on her tummy but she will NOT let me cut them. She loves haircuts around her neck and head but not her tummy. She has sharp teeth [:D]

Camille, I once had a cat with peculiar emotional needs. When it got to be too much, I would give him a bath. He hated the bath but would spend hours afterwards QUIETLY grooming himself.

She has sharp teeth [:D] i have fibromyalgia and the rheumatologist suspects lupus as well, but of course the ANA wont show up as it usually doesnt. my fibro is rather severe, takes alot once im in a flare up to get out of it... and same as the period thing wow parallel lives....ive had mine but very scanty then all of a sudden the worst one in history i think that is why i was whinny and crying first of the week to everyone here.... hang in there hands ya a mother earth pillow . and btw if this aint an oxymoron iwas a massage therapist before it struck me hard, always hada problem but until all the devistation that happened in our lives i refused to feel it....... kisses and hugs and wishing you a great massage

camille, I met a very interesting woman yesterday who I will be working with in a local wellness center. She teaches Qi Gong, has a PhD in Naturopathy, etc.. She was telling me that she also works with peoples pets since ,often, they seem to somehow develop pathologies of their own because of the empathetic relationships thet have with their "owners". It's new stuff to me, but i'm really nor surprised, loving animals and having had pets over the years. I'm not sure if there is info on this on the net, but it might bear looking into. If you are interested in getting more info on this, lemme know and I will be happy to put you in touch with her.
