both of my sons are way past 18, youngest just turned 30 and the oldest will turn 35 in aug. it felt like the last two years before their 18th birthdays i was holding my breath...just hoping and praying we would all make it....lol
unbelievable....now find myself saying stuff like..."where have the years gone"..."they grow up so fast"....we do end up saying the same stuff our elders did...lol.
yes, both my kids are legal adults now and it is strange for me. sometimes it makes me so excited because this opens up a new chapter for me in my life as well, other times it makes me feel sad because i think they won't need me as much [&o] but that is what a good parent does, get's their children ready to be self sufficient and successful out in the big old, scary world. i've spent the last 20 years being their caregiver, most of it by myself..it will be interesting to see how i switch gears into whatever the next mode is (i still haven't figured that part out yet)
