popeye1250 -> Do you "feel" your age? (4/10/2008 1:50:17 PM)

I'm 57 but I don't feel it.
It's kind of like it snuck up on me.
Sure, I have aches and pains like everyone else but I can basically do what I want.
And my sex drive has always been very high.
I think I "peaked" at 45 not 17 like they say males do.
I try to keep an open mind about "most" things and I think that helps keep you feeling young.
I look at a lot of other guys my age and they "look" 57. They act it too.
Ha, and I've been told that too, "act your age!"
As jaded as I am I can still  have the amazement of a little boy when I see a gorgeous sunset or looking up at the stars at night!
I guess I just "think" that way.
And when looking at women I think some women in their 60's and 70's are hot just like women in their 20's.
What say you?

I am quite the black sheep here. Most people think I am a lot younger than I actually am. And childlike? Hell, I still play with actual toys (Japanese die cast, Lego, superhero action figures, etc). I also enjoy the odd games of Clue, Monopoly and Scrabble. And having a great sex life is very invigorating. The best revenge for all the bullshit the world tosses one's way.

So no, I am not really feeling my age.

I feel like I'm 100, everyday I have to climb 78 stairs at the train station, I try to run up them but unlike Rocky I get less far each time rather than further and further. I blame the weather, the environment and anyone but myself for this failure to run up 78 stairs in under a minute.[8|]

Inside my head I'm in my mid twenties, in the mirror I'm definitely not in my mid twenties! But generally no, I don't feel like I always thought someone 43 would feel like. That is separate from how my physical self feels though, if that makes any sense?

chellekitty -> RE: Do you "feel" your age? (4/10/2008 2:06:07 PM)

KatyLied -> RE: Do you "feel" your age? (4/10/2008 2:07:30 PM)

On some days I definitely feel my age.  It helps that people are usually surprised, they think I'm much younger.  I like that.  Thank goodness for hair dye.

I'm 39 and having a femdom mid life crisis. I don't want a corvette. I just want a harem of 20something-year old boys.
Turning nearly 40 wasn't a shocker for me - but when my husband turned 30 this year I had to shake my head.

I don't feel close to 40 at all.  I think I am in the best shape of my life and the healthiest I have ever been.  I do have a little bit of a struggle with regards to how to dress; I don't want to buy clothes that are appropriate for my age but I don't want to look like one of "those older people" I used to laugh at when I was in my 20s, if that makes sense.

I think I look my age til I see others that are my age ( im 59)...got my first snotty email from a 20yr old last nite lol ...

I have decided that old is 5 years older than I am on any given day .... have given up having relationships with Older men as most of them are " dead " <wink>...

I still have an open mind and feel younger than I am mentally at least ... but have decided that those that are my sons age are YOUNG .. and that is nearing 40 .. so not sure how Im explaining that anymore ...

Some days I feel 101 but those are days with health issues and I never feel that old mentally ....

Once you go beige and brown that's it, no escape; the fluffy indoor footwear and tartan blanket come next like the hand of death.

I just wish I had an emoticon with a pipe and flat cap, freezing to death in front of a radiator because the government hates him. I'll have to settle though for this one to express my sentiment...

Hobble on over here, honey and sit on my lap in this new wheelchair I got. Has HD cable, internet, wireless direct link to Mellow Mushroom Pizza and my medicinal herb connection pharmacist. Gentle, though. I have thin bones.

sub4hire -> RE: Do you "feel" your age? (4/10/2008 2:20:44 PM)

Lately I feel much older than I am.  That is only because I'm facing knee surgery here soon.
Most people say I look younger than I am.  Normally I feel much younger.  I can out run or out do
many half my age.

I've never had the brain of a child though, I grew up entirely too fast.

My brain tells me i am not old, my joints tend to disagree, except the knee, as thats plastic and titanium. I remember yelling at my nephew " now look what youve done, i sound like my dad "

slaveboyforyou -> RE: Do you "feel" your age? (4/10/2008 2:35:18 PM)

I'm 32 and I don't feel much different than when I was 20.  I do notice differences in my lifestyle vs. then.  My friends in the local area are generally people I have known most of my life.  Most of them are married with kids.  Hell, I have a friend my age with a teenage daughter.  All of them have all of these responsibilities that I don't have.  I always have more money than they do, because I only have to take care of myself.  But, I tend to do a lot of things alone more now.  My old friends can't take off on the weekends to go fishing on a whim.  So it's a trade off.  You're a minority when you're a 30 something, single person in a small town in the South.
