camille65 -> Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:12:10 AM)

Yeah okay so this is what happened. In my frenzy to look luverly for my dom on Monday (yay yay yay) I got a wee bit to close (definitely too close) to those bits that Nair explicitly warns about. Somehow while applying it to the bikini zone (I don't even wear those damn things) in the shower (which means w/o glasses..blindly) I must have also dabbed a bit right outside my vaginal opening. Not knowing I'd done that moronic movement, I remained squatting in the shower for the required 6 minutes before rinsing off. Ouch. Jaysus serious ouch that I didn't feel until hours later. Of course I hopped into the shower again but it was too late. I've a reddened and seriously ouchie spot now. Is there anything that will soothe it?  Finally............. wtf is up with me and hair removal problems?Maybe I should just be a hairy chick..

Not having a pussy to put nair on, and never having put nair on my dick, I might not have the best advice, but I would suggest aloe.

camille65 -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:22:08 AM)

Aloe makes me break out, thanks though. Aarrrghhhh I've less than 2 days for this to go away! (criminy this is embarrassing)

myotherself -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:23:27 AM)

been there...[:'(]

Aloe is a good idea (as long as you're not allergic!).  This is a chemical burn, so there's not much else to do.

camille65 -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:24:50 AM)

Nooooo myotherself there simply has to be something I can do? Hmmm that sounds like I'm sobbing to my other self, not to myotherself but I sure wish any self had a solution. Jeez I'm stalking this post.

sirsholly -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:27:59 AM)

my suggestion would be cool baths for the sting. I would stay away from any burn agent that is a debreader..ie Silvadine, and wear all cotton panties if you have to wear any at all.

camille65 -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:31:13 AM)

holly I'm stayin naked til I have to get dressed for the airport, any clothing/panties rub the ouch.  I swear I astound myself sometimes. There is an upside though! Instead of my usual quarterly panic on how my body looks naked I'm obsessing with one teensy but truly painful spot. Hah. Sob. Hah. Sob sob sob.  Cool bath ya say? Do you think that oatmeal bath stuff would help? Can't remember the name but I have real oatmeal I could finely grind. So that maybe on Monday I can grind something else. TMI?[:D]

OK that sucks to be allergic to aloe at a time like this!  Try Zinc Oxyde (you can get cream in your local drug store).  Another amazing remedy for all things related to skin ailments is Burts Bee's Hand Salve.  You'll smell strongly like eucalyptus, but apply liberally and it does soothe.

I had serious chemical burns from a product called Tend Skin, so I know the despair you are feeling!  Have you looked at it?  Is it an open wound?  If not, you will heal quickly.  Keep something cool on it (immediately) so you do not continue to burn.  Keep it cool for about an hour or more before applying anything else to it.

And if it's just sore in a couple of days...just enjoy yourself through the soreness! [8D]

myotherself -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:32:38 AM)

shame about the aloe!

Do yourself a favour though - DO NOT tell your Master about this!  He could make your meeting VERY interesting...

What am I saying?!  Guess I should surrender my 'masochistic sub of the year' badge now.  Sob  [:(]

christine1 -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:32:45 AM)

what about something like aveeno or just make an oatmeal paste?  i got a few chemical burns at work and oatmeal at least took some of the sting out...worth a try anyway.

camille65 -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:35:03 AM)

Oooooh I think I've got some of that Burts Bees but then again it could be the lemon hand balm I'm thinking of.. hmmm I could toss on a dress sans undies n go zinc shopping![:D]I wuv you, all of you.Yes you. And you, and you, and you!! Please any more suggestions are beyond welcome. I have sex 4 times a year and um well.. jokes aside? I'm devastated this happened. I worked so hard for the last month to make sure I wouldnt get a lupus flare up or be exhausted while with him, and I did this stupid stupid thing.

vixenkneels -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:37:19 AM)

Try honey...it has natural healing powers, should help soothe as well as protect the area from abrasions.  Messy, but still better than what you're going through.

OldBastardly1 -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 8:59:57 AM)

Mix oatmeal & honey. At least it would be a tasty breakfast treat.

lmao!!!

MontrealPhoenix -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 9:06:21 AM)

Try hydrocortisone cream. At the very least it should take the worst of the sting away.

hugs to you, sweetie, i hope it works out.

seriously...what about cocoa-butter? would that help?

Lynnxz -> RE: Nair burn aka dumb act of the year (4/26/2008 9:12:40 AM)

Burts Bees hand cream!  Mine smells like banana. [&:]

But that seriously sucks... I made the mistake of trying that once.. the worst part was it didn't even get it smooth.. AND it burnt me.

sorry but,...WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO finally, someone else who is allergic to aloe...you have no idea, or maybe you do, how many people tell me it's not possible to be allergic to aloe...

anyway...chemical burns on the vagina...yep, done that...lots of cool rinses in the shower - like ever time you go to the bathroom while you are at home, and diaper rash creme for while you are not and while you are sleeping - not all zinc oxides are specifically balanced for genital areas (i found out the hard way)...and, as i am sure you know, check for "soothing aloe"...

oh and do not put any honey anywhere near your vagina...as cute as the suggestion might have been, you don't need a yeast infection to go with your chemical burn....

oh and cocoa butter is a no-no...when it heats up it acts like any other oil based product and heat rash here you come....sorry OB...you're just not helpful with the vaginal remedies...

Try buttermilk ... and the beasties in it should not be harmful either ...
