I always thought it was spelled 'git'. Thanks to growing up with Monty Python and Dr Who, I am familiar with colloquialisms used in GB. Makes life much more interesting. I even know a wee bit of Aussie slang.

Tis spelt git, just pronounced 'get'. My bad.

It seems like a lot of British colloquialisms are cute: woolies or jumpers for sweaters. "Sweaters" is kinda disgusting now that I think about it. Crisps and bonnet and loo...

But the food: You seriously would order toad in the hole and Mrs. Brains faggotts in gravy?

hahahahaha

The thing is my Brit friends are always telling me to DO things....  Spare a fag?   Mind the gap?    I mean, I'm as compassionate as the next guy so sure I'll save some poor homo's ass.  But obey a retail preppie clothing store?  Why?

The one thing I can't get used to here in the States is the 'pants' instead of 'trousers' thing. It's such a horrible sounding word to start with... plus I was conditioned to think it means 'knickers'. It's just so wrong  .

lucy:  To you, its a homey dessert.   To me, its symptom #1 of syphlitic infection.

On the otherhand, to ME a "tart" is a nice dessert.  and to YOU its probably the skank ho' that gave him that spotted dick.

See?  all life is a circle.

hehehhehe my sister calls me a daft tart...so Im a nice daft dessert.
She called me a jammy tart once, didnt mean I had anything to do with jelly(english jam) or desert, but that I was a sneaky bitch for not getting busted drinking cider at the local youth club with the local boys.
I also like the terms, slapper, harlot, whore, hussy, trollop, slag.etc altho if you gonna call me one to my face you could get your face ripped off grins, its all relative
