I understand that based on your age indirectly you probably see the world very much like that, but as has been discussed in other threads, not every one has the luxury of nothing to loose by being outted. Some people live in small towns or have other social considerations that might make coming out about their kinks undesireable, some people are prominent in the community or hold professional jobs that make discretion important- not just at the office but you never know you might bump into at the grocery store. Personally I could lose my job or even custody of my child if things came out. Just because someone is in this life style doesn't automatically mean that they have to be out about it. For those that make that choice or that have that choice open to them without sufering any ill effects for it, good for them, not everyone can afford to be outted and it shouldn't have to be a prerequisite of being kinky that the whole world needs to know it.
