Just keep an eye on it and all should be well in about two weeks. [sm=flowers.gif]
Believe me, there is a reason (or two, or three...) I know.

awww, thanks for the flowers.

And I only plan on having ONE reason to know what you do!  [:)]
Not that I planned on the FIRST one!

s2s!

How is the toe?

Well. . . Memorial Day is almost upon us and I almost have the house cleaned (must take the razor blade to the floors to remove the stickers, again) and the 2 ice cream bases are made. I will be churning them today or tomorrow. I must first re-arrange the freezer. I have made the homemade scutterbotch and strawberry topping. The chocolate I bought. In the Hershey's can. Those plastic squeeze bottles just do not taste right.

I made enough strawberry topping for an army. When I was buying the ingredients and starting the process, I was worried about not having enough. I would say that almost a gallon of strawberry topping is enough. Oooops. Ah well. It can be frozen, like jam, and used for pancake topping (the other half loves that) or for making strawberry shortcake.

I am not completely thrilled with the scutterbotch. I am wondering if re-doing it with more cream would make me happier. Of course, I am not a chemist so I have NO idea what adding more cream would do to the whole process.

Overall, I am pretty much prepared for Memorial Day. I have all of the stuff for the Taco Bar purchased, and I bought the lettuce already shredded, so actual prep time is about nil. Less than an hour, and that will all be ready. The stuff for the after-swimming Sundae Bar is 'made' except for the churning and freezing. So I think that I am doing rather well.

How about the rest of you?

I know that Celeste is going to comment on her 18 dozen cookies in 16 types and that will leave me in awe. Oh. . . and she will have a dozen or so salads and side dishes as well. I have no idea how she does it.

Are you all ready for the three-day weekend?

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/28/2011 12:26:19 PM)

Hey Aylee...I'll be at your house for Memorial Day!  Homemade ice cream......*drooooool*.  And I'll take some of each on my ice cream...chocolate, strawberry and scutterbotch!  And of course, you could have strawberry shortcake ala mode too!  You might find a gallon may not be enuf after all!

The toe is healing...it's out in the breeze right now.  Still can't really look at it, and I banged it on the car door last night and it bled some, but all in all, looking okay.  I do the hydrogen peroxide dance three times a day.......*mustnotscream*tappitytaptap*MUSTNOTSCREEEEEEEEM!!!*  The kittehs think it's amusing to watch me squirming around in agony.  But payback's a bitch...they are all getting dipped for fleas later this week.....I hope to survive that little adventure intact.  Their harnesses act like handles, and it's hard for them to move around, so.....cross your fingers.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/28/2011 12:48:18 PM)

Good luck with the flea dipping Soul, just make sure to keep your toes away from anything that you can bump into again.  O do I know the aaaaa-goooo-nyyyy of doing that.  When I had the roots taken out I went to a party, got drunk and proceeded to hit my foot on the ledge leading from the apartment to the balcony.  Didn't need to have my stitches taken out.  That took care of it.  [>:]

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/28/2011 2:59:10 PM)

*gulparghgulp*  That's one reason I didn't get to the docs...I was afraid of stitches!  But all in all, I think mine's gonna be okay.  I'll just be glad when I can wear a shoe again.....I've been wearing flip flops, and they are driving me nuts!  The piece between the toes is the problem.  I don't see how people wear them all the time!  I've been walking around barefoot at work, fortunately, no one's said anything about it.  I just wait for all the brass to be gone.

And of course, since I have the toe out unbandaged, 2 of my kittehs have stepped on it twice each......owieowieowie!!!!!!  And the one time I moved the foot out from under the kitteh's way, I banged it on the tub!  I give up!

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/28/2011 3:52:25 PM)

You're starting to sound like the klutz I am.  If I'm not banging into it, walking into it, banging my head on it, dropping something on my foot, stubbing my toes, the day just isn't complete.  And when platform shoes were in style all those years ago I was known to fall off the damn shoes and also fall down the stairs in highschool taking people with me.  I did it with style.  [:D]  My parents always did regret getting me those shoes.  I remember they were dark blue and the sole was dark blue velvet, shoes were laced too.

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/28/2011 4:02:53 PM)

Actually I'm not cooking much. The Man is spending the weekend under the car changing the transmission. We've been to the auto parts store three times today already and it's not even a quarter done. No parties here and not sure which kid is working when.

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/28/2011 9:20:27 PM)

Yeah, the klutz in me has put in an appearance big time this week.....case in point...when walking on your bed located under a ceiling fan, you MIGHT want to make sure the fan isn't ON!  I was fixing a curtain, and stepped back and felt the WHOOOSH of air from the fan......I almost got a haircut I wasn't expecting!

Holly's getting a run for her title this week!

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/29/2011 4:24:39 AM)

I've done that thing with the fan.  And major owowowow, I pulled some muscles from my sternum about a week and 1/2 ago, I packed a whole 6 boxes yesterday.  I can barely move my entire body hurts.  And I can't take anything but short breaths or the pain flares.  Can't take advil too much, I get vertigo.  Can't take tylenolo too much, I get rebound migraines.  Can't take aleve, I'm allergic to the naproxen so basically I'm screwed.

The nurse practitioner won't give me anything for it because of the problems I have with the above 3 and she says it'll heal in 6 to 8 weeks.  Uhhhh, yeah, that's going to help me this week, while I have to pack and move on Saturday.  [8|]

Phoenixpower -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/29/2011 6:12:03 AM)

Today I have to get my lounge packed up and tomorrow the rest, cause if I don't my parents will be here before I am ready and that won't be pretty [:o]

Gosh, I hate packing [:o]

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/29/2011 10:24:34 AM)

I know how you feel Phoenix, I'm really hating the packing this time because I'm hurting so badly.  But there's nothing I can do about it except keep on keeping on til I'm done.  EEEEK and OOOOWIE! [>:]

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/29/2011 3:12:04 PM)

ooooo....I'm feeling your pain, Poohbear......at least I did my stunt after I got things moved from the one apartment to the other.  But I was forced to at least find homes for the stuff in the living room, because everytime I walked thru it, I banged my toe on something!  I hope you've at least got some help with the moving part.    Worse comes to worse, throw the stuff in trash bags and haul it that way.

Moving is such a drag!

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/29/2011 4:10:43 PM)

I absofuckinglutely HATE to move.  I once did 12 moves in 13 yrs.  I got really good at it.  I thought I'd be where I am now for quite awhile, but Sharron can't afford to keep up the costs of the house.  With her daughter going off to college in the fall, it's going to be way to big for her.  I've been here 2 1/2 yrs and I love it.  I wake up to songibirds in the morning and fall asleep to frogs, crickets and bullfrogs at night.  And now I'm moving back to a city, so I'll have to get used to traffic sounds again.  OY, what a difference that's gonna make.  The only sirens I've heard were last summer when I had to call the cops and the fire dept when Sharron set fire to the lower property by mistake.

But I have to make the best of it, I've already had another female sub from the other side contact me and welcome me to Cornwall.  We've been sending cmails back and forth and seem to get along great.  It'll be nice to have a friend again, especially one who understands my mindset.  And all her friends are 'nilla, they know about her and hubby but don't understand it.  And she can't get them to go into a toy store with her, because like the friends I used to have they get blindingly embarassed.  It's funny to see but you don't get to walk around for a few hours and have the staff show you how it works outisde the package.  [:D]

calamitysandra -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/29/2011 11:00:57 PM)

Cornwall? Why the hell was I conviced you were in Canada?

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/30/2011 2:32:42 AM)

I am in Canada, Cornwall is just off the 401 near the Quebec border.  It's right along the St-Lawrence Seaway and the bridge to the U.S. goes right over the city.

calamitysandra -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/30/2011 1:34:48 PM)

Ooops [&:]

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/30/2011 3:45:46 PM)

Iss ok, I'm sure I'll get some cmails regarding it.  O, I dunno, Doms from the UK possibly?  [;)]

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (5/31/2011 11:18:56 PM)

I got rid of the bulky bandages on my toe....WOOTLES!  And unless I bang it on something, it's not hurting at all.  I still can't wear a shoe yet...the toes don't have enough room, and the toe gets jammed in the shoe.  {sigh}  So it's the dopey flip flops for a while yet.  I finally took a good look at it tonight, it's healing up pretty quickly.  No sign of new nail growth, but no telling how long that will take.  I put some of that skin bandange stuff on it to seal it up.  I hope it does grow back......it's still kinda gross looking as it is.

tiggerspoohbear -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/1/2011 7:31:54 AM)

It'll grow back, take a month or 2, maybe a bit longer.  Make sure it doesn't grow as ingrown when it does grow back or you'll have more problems.  Glad it's healing too.  [:)]

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (6/1/2011 5:18:52 PM)

I wore a shoe to work today!!!!  Well, actually a pair of them, but the point is I could!  WOO-HOOO!

Which is actually a good thing, because they are expanding the floor space, and the a/c from that space is fuh-reeeeeezing!  And apparently, no one's figured out where the thermostat for the place is yet.  We're back to blankets......at least my feet were warmer today!
