In a couple of years you should buy her a map and send postcards from all the places you stop. So she can mark them on the map.

The ex was a trucker and he did that when my son was in elementary school. He'd send postcards to the school from every truck stop. Geography and funny post cards in one. They loved that.

Was it from wind or snow?  I been through there a bit and have seen trucks have a bad time of it west of Albuquerque.

Black ice.

That's enough to make your bum suck up the seat covers!

Well there were no whote out conditions at the time, the big wussies.

Although the number of tractor-trailers we saw on the sides and middle if the road that had not yet been towed off may have had something to do with it.

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 5:59:41 AM)

Plus the fact that none of the locals know how to drive in winter weather. The Man used to live in New Mexico and tells a story about a half hour traffic jam that was caused by a ten foot patch of ice at the intersection. Nobody knew how to cross it.

jlf1961 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 11:49:42 AM)

I want glaciers 10 miles thick covering the middle to upper latitudes of both the northern and southern hemisphere.... I WANT AN ICE AGE

LadyPact -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 11:52:12 AM)

Come visit anytime, Dude.  I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed with the ice here.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 11:59:59 AM)

Today not cold enough for you, Jeff?

We did have a few snowflakes.  Went to check the antifreeze and the cap could not come off.  Stan had to get the channel locks to open it up...it has never been open since Mom brought the van.

The antifreeze was still good in it.  no problems there.  Afterwards we had to get electric blankets for the beds.

Tonight I will sleep toasty.

outhere69 -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 5:37:44 PM)

I can't believe we've got a freezing rain advisory up, with "wintry mix" in the forecast.

Sheesh, it was only supposed to be cloudy this evening.

LadyHibiscus -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 7:02:37 PM)

Yeah our "wintry mix" was over an inch.

Winter. HATING. The cold really affects me these days. And I hate my coats. Except my shearling jacket.

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/6/2011 7:11:00 PM)

I need a new coat.  This one of mine is over 10 years old and I can barely zip it up...I blame the tits.

Wolfandkitten -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 3:40:14 AM)

*YAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWN* Wow....what year is it?

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 9:12:14 AM)

Hey Jeff, we're getting 3 - 5 inches of snow tonight. That enough of a start for you?

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 9:31:20 AM)

Sun shining here but it is COLD!!!  I am keeping my feet on the registers.

Phoenixpower -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 3:04:49 PM)

Still too warm here for the snow to stay, no matter how stormy and wet (snow with rain) it was today [:o]

Though considering some trips which I've to do in next days to pick up furniture and my cats...I don't really mind that for now [:)]

When I was about 7 months pregnant, we were living in Austin Tx. It snowed there, about 8", and the locals had no clue! I was stopped at a light on maybe a 5 degree incline, about the 5th vehicle in line, and finally gave up, pulled over and started telling these idiots how to drive in *koff* snow *koff*. The road was just lightly, and I mean LIGHTLY iced over because of the traffic, and these people just sat there spinning their wheels. First, I told them to downshift...the common reply was "but I'm driving an automatic!" Um.....what do folks think the 1 and 2 are?????? So once I explained that to them, I directed them onto a cement divider that still had snow on it, got them moving, and then finally went on my way. 7 months pregnant and in my dress green Army uniform......but I needed to get to drill! Of course, the rest of the unit was 3 hours late.....something about not being able to drive in the snow! :) Lordy, lordy, lordy! I lived farther away from the unit than anyone else did!

Of course, I grew up, and learned to drive in, Upstate NY, right in the middle of the Lake Effect belt.......8" of snow ain't nuttin, baby!

soul2share -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 3:33:59 PM)

And it's 57 and was raining here.......I'm walking around in t-shirts, everyone else is starting to break out coats and gloves.......wusssssssssie! :)

AND I have my windows open....sleeping is grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!

ShaharThorne -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 3:59:59 PM)

It is just above freezing here and I actually stepped outside to get to the freezer.

I think the hair on my legs froze off.

Going to be another cold one tonight and I got my electric blanket...TOASTY!!!

DesFIP -> RE: The Holly and Potty Show (12/7/2011 4:20:36 PM)

Hey, means you don't have to shave your legs. Always a good thing.
