nelbot -> chicken doms? (11/8/2005 3:35:31 PM)

When someone sends a nasty or scathing email to someone else criticizing them for and disagreing with their profile and then immediately blocks the person from responding, even respectfully, to their attack; it shows a lack of courage and inability to accept responsibility for ones actions. When that person attacking is a self-purported dominant, who then runs and hides from their own words by blocking the attacked party, it makes a strong statement about their worthiness of the title 'Master'. When an unprovoked attack is made on someone else for no other reason than because they don't like the person's profile, and then such an attacker hides behind the safety of blocking the recipient from responding it shows a lack of responsibility for ones actions and poor character. When that person claims that they are a dominant, it serves as an example of the false faces and disrespectful and irresponsible characters that show themselves on Collar Me, no less so than if the attacker were a submissive but from a dominant that theoretically aspires to live by a higher code of ethics and responsibility than the vanilla world, it is the freudian slip of their true character showing. Does anyone agree on this?

You see situations like this daily in all facets of life on the computer. I once had someone needing technical support from me ( to help fix their pc) block me. Why? No idea. Nothing was threatening in any way. It only hurt them in the end. However, if you let it bother you eventually it will eat you up inside.

Your whole scenerio is why a Master is not a Master to me. Someone calling themselves dominant does not mean I will view them that way. How can you? In order to have the name you must behave in a certain fashion, so many do not.
I certainly would'nt title the post chicken doms. People like you are describing should not be called a dom in the first place.
At least that is how I view life.

nelbot..IMO Doms and Masters have impeccable manners...so anyone who SENDS a vile email is in doubt; and block -- don't block -- jump up and down and bark like a dog -- they aren't getting a response from me so i'd never know if they had "hidden".

I agree with you 100%. It is pusillanimous. I always respects someone's wishes. However, If I was going to block someone, and I have only blocked 2 people ever, then I generally sent them a message saying what my intentions are and why I am going to block them. I give the opportunity to respond, and then once they have responded, I take action. It seems only fair to give someone the right of reply. I only block people if they are really noxious, noisome or are making pests of themselves for sending multiple silly messages. I think there is a code of ethics to follow. If someone says, 'I am not interested in corresponding' or whatever , I simply thank them and advise their wishes will be respected. Abuse is the preserve of the weak and unimaginative.

Theslavetrainer -> RE: chicken doms? (11/8/2005 4:15:28 PM)

Dominants are people. Nothing more, nothing less. The very word is used to discribe a personality trait, not the person themself. Some Dominants are charismatic, some are bumbling putzes. Whereas I agree that to donounce someones profile and then block them from replying is a petty thing to do, it is only a reflection of the person who comitted the action, not a group. When you say that a dominant is suppose to be aspiring to live by a higher code of ethics and responsibities you are, in essence, putting them on a high pedistal. To expect that none would fall is childish. We all stumble once in a while.
Also, there are mean people out there, sub, slave, Master, Dominant alike. If one of them contacts you, as one seems to have, then you need to brush it off and move on. Otherwise you have fallen into their game. I personally, live by my own code of ethics. If they are higher or lower then anyone elses or what someone thinks they should be, too bad. I really don't care because in the end, this is my way of life and how I choose to live it.

God dag!

Yes nelbot there are such a thing as chicken doms.

They are called roosters, and they are mean. They peck other chickens eyes out but only have relations with female chickens, and soon become McDonalds..........

I guess we are what we eat. I really enjoy hate mail. I mean if you can write something nice (or even nothing at all) and you have brought down the Mother-of-All-Doms on you.........(in my case, the Mother-of-All-Subs).......and they can sum you up in a nasty little note and devalue you by blocking you from answering.......well, by God you are making a difference in the world........it is something that will be carved in runes on my gravestone, those names.

Odin is the God of confusion and war.

LOL,
Ron

Stone the crows Ron and watch out for drop bears...... Why don't we just round up all the "chicken doms' and strip them of rank publically then remove thier genitals and pack them off to McDonalds for processing??????? We could toss the remaining genitals on the bbq and see how they compare to sheep's testicals and other awfull offal.

Hail Odin

mnottertail -> RE: chicken doms? (11/8/2005 5:56:14 PM)

I am for you, Sir! Send these all-knowing and all-seeing to us, and we will introduce them to All-father, and the death eagle will be carved on their backs.

Hugin and Munin will pick their bones and not one will be taken up to Valhalla by the Valkyries.

Sworn to the one-eyed Odin!

I disagree. While I DO find the need to distinguish between Masters and Doms, I'll make the comment that a Master IS held to a higher standard. How can we, be charges with totally OWNING another human being and NOT be held to the strictest code of ethics and behavior.

If you want to call yourself Master... you have to behave AS a Master should.. you don't have the luxury of throwing tantrums and sneak attacks on subbies..

Master Michael

IronBear -> RE: chicken doms? (11/8/2005 6:46:27 PM)

Michael, Michael, Michael! Again another well thought out post. One querstion though, does this mean that I have to give up my Eaudi-d'Sleen after shave??? It does have a certain aroma which keep away all but the brave, fool hardy or sensory deprived (depraved).

Focus50 -> RE: chicken doms? (11/9/2005 2:44:00 AM)

Grin and bear it, there's no competing with such childish cowardice! But spread the word among all your friends - whispering campaigns can be just as effective and equally difficult to defend.

Focus.

Hmmmm.... 100%....??? You sure?

There I was about a week ago, preparing to post in a thread where you were accused of just such a hit and run blocking action, when.... *poof* - the whole thread was deleted.... Or was it just moved? I went looking but couldn't find it....

Mate, needlessly over-exercising your vocabulary doesn't imply credibility around here (or intelligence for that matter) - especially when most of us "dummies" have memories....

I can handle accussations, and will respond to them. I am not trying to impress anyone, least of you. I am not sure what happened to the thread you mention, but it either got moved or had bits removed because the moderator decided it was offensive or asinine. You'd have to ask them about that...

And why are you steamed anyway ?

Jacques1000 -> People who live in Glasshouses.... (11/9/2005 4:01:26 AM)

Yes, I remember the thread now. The person in question was offensive. I was happy to debate the issue offline, but not happy to be just slagged off. This person could not comply with this request and seemed intent on being offensive. They were blocked as a result. I fail to see how this is incompatible with my earlier post.

smilezz -> RE: chicken doms? (11/9/2005 4:16:28 AM)

Actually nelbot............all you did was give that person power to tick you off. Obviously the person is not worth your time. Disregard it as an online regularity and move on. It does not show that person's worth...it only shows that the person has put in their profile they are dominant...or master.........doesn't make them so.

Happy Wednesday...

FTopinMichigan -> RE: chicken doms? (11/9/2005 6:05:24 AM)

I receive such notes from Doms, from time to time, or rejected subs, or men just looking to put a woman down. Heck, I've even received them from women on occasion.

nelbot, I find the best way to deal with it...is not take it seriously. I like to remember that the respondent means absolutely nothing to me, and their reactions in e-mail are reflective ONLY of them, and have nothing to do with me.

I shake my head, delete their e-mail, and know another one will come later, under a different name.

It's not worth the energy and effort to get upset with it, or even think about it. Easier said than done, in some cases, but that type of hit-and-run coward isn't worth the effort.

K

That is exactly what occured and it is nothing but an illustration of cowardliness. When you don't have confidence in your position, your argument resorts to name calling. If you're juvenile enough you send a name calling email and then block the other person. I guess then you back into the room you have in your mother's basement and journalize how you "won" and how great your vocabulary and debating stills are. Ultimately you find no one else left who isn't blocked. The only person left to talk to is yourself. You play mind games with yourself. Needing no one else this person becomes a "Master-Debater".

Merc, I think you're viewing this from a supercalifragilisticexpialidocius and tangential paradigm.
